We made several adjustments to our normal procedures to keep our staff and children safe during the 2020-2021 school year, we intend to follow the same procedures for the 2021-2022 school year. Our classes are held entirely outdoors and make full use of our fantastic playground and surrounding area to provide our children a safe place to learn and play.
All staff and parents are required to be vaccinated, and everyone including children, must wear masks while on school grounds, and complete a health check prior to school each day.

At Overlee, we believe that play is the foundation for lifelong learning and that parent-participation is the key to building community. Research shows that for preschool-aged children, the best outcomes occur when learning is embedded in play. Children need both unstructured free play and playful learning under the gentle guidance of adults to best prepare them for entrance into kindergarten.
Our Yellowbird day includes free play when children are able to move about freely choosing from a wide variety of experiences. Yellowbirds have a circle time with songs, finger-plays and stories, a snack time, and an outdoor play time. Exploration and discovery and mastery of new materials are exciting for two's and our class room offers lots of opportunities to do this.
We greatly appreciate your interest in Overlee Preschool. Overlee is open to applicants of any race, color, sex, religion, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation. Below is some information about the application process, which generally takes place between January and March of each year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of our Membership Chairs at membership@overleepreschool.org.
The unique value of a cooperative preschool lies in the learning experience it offers the parents as well as the children. Overlee believes that parent involvement in a child's preschool education benefits the entire family. Participation by all the parents during the year gives the child the opportunity to know many adults with varying backgrounds and personalities.
Tuition rates vary depending on the class your child is in, a rate table can be found on the Programs page. Our Yellowbirds meet Tuesday/Thursday 12:30 - 2:30 in the Fall Semester and Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 12:30 - 2:30 in the Spring Semester. Our Bluebirds and Redbirds meet Monday - Friday 9:15 - 12:00 with the option to stay for Lunch Bunch from 12-1:30.
