Services
Bikram Yoga San Jose is one of hundreds of official Bikram Yoga College of India schools around the globe that offers the Bikram Method of yoga exclusively. Michele's dream was to open a special place that focuses on introducing this specific type of yoga to new practitioners and serving the many diverse students that diligently follow this discipline.
Pre-registration is required and stays open up to five minutes before class time. If you don't show by then, your spot may be given to someone else. If you know you won't be able to make it, kindly cancel ASAP. If a class is full, you can join the waitlist, and we will notify you as soon as a spot opens up.
One of the things we love about yoga is that all you need is your body. Find a space, wear comfortable clothes, set up your laptop, tablet, or phone, and go to it! You may want to create a hot and humid environment in a small room or bathroom using heaters, humidifiers, or running the shower. Many of us have been practicing outdoors or at home at room temperature.
Bikram yoga is a highly therapeutic beginner's yoga class designed to provide a challenging, rejuvenating, and powerful experience. During this 90-minute class, we stretch, strengthen, and prepare the body to work every muscle, organ, gland, and cell. If you have a body, you can do this yoga. I started Bikram Yoga to help with carpal tunnel problems related to my job.
Bikram's beginning yoga class is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises in a heated room for 90 minutes. Classes are suited for all ages and levels of ability. Each posture stretches and strengthens muscles, ligaments, and joints and stimulates the organs, glands, and nerves. With regular practice, Bikram yoga improves health, increases energy, helps prevent illness and injury, and limits the effects of aging.

I love this studio but because it is too far away from where I live so I only go when I'm in the area visiting my sisters family.

I have been going to this studio for couple years now. I love love going here. There were some reviews on the “stench” or “smell” but when you sweat oodles or calories on a carpeted room, it’s expected.
I love the teachers here. I look forward to classes by Ashley Arai, Amelia, and Matt. These are my favorites and make the class mindful, interesting, fun, and productive. I highly recommend this studio for your Bikram Yoga needs!

It has been more than 3 years I've attended Hot Yoga at this place, so I wanted to write an update. I'm sure you don't need this review as there are soooo many, you can get an idea, but in case you need an update from someone who is not 60-day challenger, but just a regular 2-4 (if lucky) times a week attendee, someone who was never "sold" about goodness of yoga.
This is the only not competitive exercise I stuck with for years. I used to be a competitive athlete. As you know, once one is done competing, many of us gain weight and it's hard to stay in shape when life

An awesome place for hot, sweaty, totally life changing yoga. Great facilities - spacious lobby, lots of showers, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hairdryers, filtered water stations, retail section, big bright yoga room with natural light. Great variety of teachers - there’s someone for everyone. Great owner - Michele is so inspiring, knowledgeable, and a literal yoga champion. Great community - seriously, you will meet the best people here. Full schedule of 90 minute Bikram yoga classes.

Love how often they offer classes. The room is nice and warm and the classes start right on time. I no longer live in San Jose but if I did I would be a regular here. It's a wonderful workout and I feel so fresh once I'm done. #sweatcity

Everyone needs to this in their life at least once. I tried Bikram Yoga for the first time with friends last summer and fell in love. I've come back to do the 30 days!!

Bikram yoga is a hot yoga class - so expect to sweat and sweat a lot! For this reason, the room will smell exactly like 90 minutes of hard work.

All the instructors I've taken classes with have been very helpful and supportive since I've started the practice. If you're a beginner, I recommenced going to the beginner classes to start off - coming into a normal class can be overwhelming at first but the instructors

Bring towel(s). You will sweat. Small puddle or big puddle, you will sweat.

The floor is not wood, not carpet, but some kind of hybrid of the two. It will be smelly; either a lot or a little. Get used to it.

Of the classes that I attended, I found the weekend morning and afternoon classes are the most packed, and the weekday afternoon classes are the least packed.

Don't arrive late! I admit I am guilty of trying to squeeze myself in after class has already started and the teachers are very accommodating, but in consideration to the teacher and fellow yogis, arrive early, set up your

Don't get me wrong with this 3 star rating. I love Bikram Yoga and Michelle Vennard is amazing!

I have recently started going to BYSJ after a long break, and the only thing that is getting to me is that all instructors have been talking like they are in an auction house. I had not felt that in past years when I was attending on a more regular basis. Did something change?

I have always liked being pushed to do my best and especially for the last few seconds of a pose, but the entire 90 minutes has recently felt like I needed an auction stick in my hand.

I will keep going for a while

I love this place! Wonderful owner, friendly teachers, manager, and staff. Beautiful bathrooms, lovely studio, stone flooring to easily mop up the sweat. Tons of classes (all day! Early morning! After work!) and devoted, helpful students and teachers. This place is a true gem! They even gave a flower before class to "spread the positivity!"

I did a ($25)drop in class a couple weeks ago and I was thoroughly impressed! There's plenty of parking and the studio was easy to find. The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and helped. One of the ladies (I'm sorry, I forgot her name) helped me get all set up and took me on a tour of the studio / locker room. She even gave a little breakdown of the studio space, which I REALLY appreciated (certain parts tend to be warmer). They give you two towels for class (and let me tell you, I definitely needed both). My class was at 6:30 pm and was pretty packed. Lee, the yoga instructor

What I Appreciate truly about Bikram Yoga San Jose is that the owner Michele has kept to the traditional 90 minutes class and has not introduced the "Bikram Yoga Express." This school practices the traditional and original style that the founder Bikram intended.
The teachers are dedicated and often give insights, tips and shares short stories about their own experiences during class which is always greatly appreciated. One of the instructors Matt voiced to us (right as the class ended and just before turning off the lights and turning on the music one early morning) a statement which

I came In with my best friend as we grew up together and I was visiting, I'm still local, just in SF now. I am an avid runner and take full body workouts at another gym in half-moon but have always been interested in hot Yoga.
As I walked in everybody greeted my buddy whom is well known there and myself as well! They gave me the run down of the Class and the class instructor Jennifer H, kindly said "once we start we ask that you don't leave and if you get tired, just rest". I said "ok!". I then proceeded through the beautiful facilities to the men's locker room

I really like this studio. I'm sure my review isn't much different from the other high-rated reviews, but this is a clean and friendly studio with passionate teachers. However, the real bottom line for me is that a regular Bikram practice has made tremendous improvement in my lower back pain. It didn't happen over night, and some days are better than others, but BYSJ makes it easy to keep up a regular practice, which was been the key to improving my back pain.
Most days they offer 7 classes, but a minimum of 5 with many opportunities for clinics to improve if you're a brand-new beginner or an

It is a great atmosphere and the teachers are very knowledgeable in the classes. They take care of you and make sure you are doing it right. On time and start the class with a smile. A large percentage of the teachers have been teaching yoga for more than a few years. I highly recommend this studio than others. Thank BYSJ, for making me feel great and feeling me with knowledge.

I've had this place bookmarked for awhile! I read a lot of the reviews here before going, so I had some sort of idea of what experience I would be in for. However, as I never have done Bikram before, I still wanted to give it a go!

PROS
(+) Location! Such a convenient location. I wish all the yoga studios I love were this close.

(+) Amount/Availability of Classes! There are so many classes here, and at all times of the day! I love that they offer late night classes to people who work hella far like me.

(+) DIVERSITY! I loved the vibe here. People of all shapes, sizes, ages were practicing

Bikram yoga has been my second home for years. I started when I was 15 years old and have now been coming for over 12 years. This place is not just a yoga studio, but a place of comfort, community and self development. It is a safe environment to learn about yourself and improve from the inside and out. The teachers take their time with you if you are new and worried or nervous about your first class. I have made life long friends here and now my dad has been an avid yogi for over 5 months! It truly changes your lifestyle and the hot room is a unique experience that everyone needs to try at least

I have been regularly practicing Bikram for 3 years at this studio and have found it to be the cleanest, most well organized Bikram studio I have ever visited. The array of teachers are talented, friendly, knowledgeable, and motivational. The down side: Many, many students practice here and if you happen to catch a crowded class, the locker rooms can be a bit tight to maneuver. (Not much of a downside...). I have practiced in Hawaii, Palm Desert, Santa Barbara, and at various studios in Michigan and am glad to call BYSJ my home. Michelle runs this place with love and passion and everyone can feel

This place is great. Whether you have a love/hate relationship with Bikram yoga, somehow you still make your way back into the studio EVEN when you tell yourself you're going to quit. I've been to 3 diff. studios now and I've got to say this one is very spacious and clean. The Bikram community they've built here is really awesome. It's a place where people are friendly, know each other, help each other, compliment each other (even though we're all sweaty as hell for an hour and a half), and just enjoy each other's company all together. Also their schedule
