Having grown up in San Jose, Dr. Lucy Yen has seen just about every eye care practice in the Bay Area. Avoid this place. Please read my comments below for reasons.
Short Story: We received multiple confirmations from front desk staff "yes we are in network for VSP, you will get reimbursement later" and paid around $2600 for 3 pairs of glasses. Later it turns out that they are not in network. We went to the court and the judgement is that they should refund us. When I call them to collect, they just said "you can come, but you are not welcomed". We are still trying to figure out how to collect now.

My child was diagnosed for a early onset of nearsightedness and since both myself and my wife had been wearing eyeglasses and contacts due to nearsightedness I wasn’t too worried until Dr. Yen told me that nearsightedness isn’t just an inconvenience anymore but am epidemic and that nearsighted kids will have tougher times in school to see and learn without struggling but also their conditions can become a medical health issues as more nearsighted individuals get eye diseases like glaucoma and things that can blind a person for life! This past summer, around July, 2020, I made the huge mistake of ordering glasses from Lucy Yen.
When they came they were the wrong model and did not fit. So I got my money back in October, which was a long arduous process with the credit card company.
The credit card company, after ruling in my favor, allowed Dr. Yen 3 months to appeal the decision, but she didn't.
Now today on March 16th, 2021, Lucy Yen has sent me multiple threatening and insulting emails and texts, one of which has an "invoice" for the glasses and stated that it has gone to "collections".

Very thorough exam. I found the doctor and her staff to be exceptionally professional, willing to listen, and very flexible. The dilating agent used before the exam didn't sting, nor did the dye for the glaucoma test. I was impressed by the frame selection for glasses, as well as choices of obtaining contact lenses. Overall, I was both impressed and happy with Dr. Yen's service and her employees.

It has been a few years since I have had my eyes examined. Went to see Dr. Yen today for the 1st time. Absolutely fantastic exam and very informative throughout the whole process. I did not think my prescription had changed that much but, wow, what a difference. I will be bringing my daughters in next to make sure everyone is good to go!

Eye Luv Lucy carries different type of unique brands of frames and I happen to like what other places don’t carry. They are very patient to explain when I didn’t know certain brands or if I ask for a styling questions such as what looks good for me. I never feel more attended to or cared for in the past. The sales people are very experienced and go above and beyond my expectations. Prices are very reasonable as well!

I came from Salinas area and was visiting friend in San Jose then I was walking in downtown Willow Glen. While walking, my sunglasses suddenly snapped off on the side so I was desperate to find a place to help me fix it. It was Saturday afternoon and I found Eye Luv Lucy Optometry. Dr. Yen gave us an excellent eye exam that is very thorough and educational. Normally I just go to the optometrist and get my prescription only but no one ever explain to me what they were testing for. Dr. Yen not only take time but she tried to explain each step what she’s doing and why and I even get to see the inside of my eyes first time through digital photo which I was amazed. Overall, great experience.

I was visiting from out of town and came across this unique eyeglasses shop. It is a boutique so they don’t have any common brands like Ray Ban or Oakley but they have lots of handmade and limited items which is a true eye opener. They are so beautiful and stylish and I ended up getting some sunglasses which I am happy to wear everyday as I didn’t look like everybody else. Highly recommended for those that want to get out of the same old same old and for great quality reasons.
