For the love of all that is Holy do not live here. There is a huge lack of communication. I had transferred my lease to someone else and was STILL SUED BY THEM FOR NOT PAYING RENT. and without telling me I waiting in court for HOURS when I had work that day just to be told my case was dismissed?? This place is unprofessional and can’t file their paper work correctly.

FYI: STABBING AT BUILDING! The location is a corner of Division, Lyon, Ionia, and Crescent streets. It's in the lower part of downtown. I lived here 7 months on short term lease. They Nickel and dime for everything and the rent goes higher and higher. Laundry quiet hours are a pain and there is not enough washers and dryers for 4 floors to use. (2 of each). Lots of "squatters" shacking up with others and Too many "destructive" Tennant's breaking and filthing up the place. Parking is discounted at $185 a month with Ellis Parking. I submitted an application to rent a studio from their property named The Lofts @ 5 Lyon and paid a $140 deposit to hold a specific unit (#203). I had scheduled an upcoming tour and was working with the leasing office to submit proof of income and finalize the application approval.
Out of nowhere, a leasing agent named Alex told me that they gave the studio I paid to hold to another prospective tenant. Moreover, this tenant originally planned to move into a 2BR unit, but decided at the last minute he/she wanted a studio, so the company sold off mine. Alex proceeded

I've lived at 5 Lyon for almost 3 years now, I'm in college and this apartment complex has been great for meeting people my age. Very dorm like in a sense. The staff are super friendly and are always trying their best to make the residents that live here comfortable. They have an art room which has been great for all the times I need a studio space and the school studios closes. Highly recommend to, first time away from home, residents.

I moved in here about 6 months ago and I love it. The community is very beautiful and it is very quiet. I enjoy talking with the office staff and they do their best to meet my needs. The community manager has been there for a long time and the other office staff is great. My apartment is updated and the office staff do treat me as customer and not as a number. I will definitely be renewing my lease again with them again.

I lived on this property for over a year and just signed another year lease. The property is well maintained and there is a sincere interest in keeping the place clean and well-groomed. The staff is very friendly and quick to ensure that any issues are resolved timely. There is a push to get residents to meet and interact. Just a great place to live!!!

This was a great experience living here. From day one the staff bent over backwards for me. While I was here they even put new carpet in the hallway of the building. This was the only place I have lived where I have gotten a deposit back. They actually gave me a list of what they look at. All I had to do was follow it.

The company that owns the Lofts are complete and total crooks. When my daughter lived there, they stole a check that was written to her from the mail drop and cashed it into their account (I have a photocopy of the cancelled check) and they pulled a bait and switch with our lease, replacing one we signed online that had a 60-day move out notice with a paper copy that had a 120-day move out notice. When I called asking where our security deposit was, they immediately sent us to collection to collect over $1500 in "accelerated rent" (in addition to the security deposit they kept) at move
