To lay this strong foundation, we place an emphasis on the benefits of learning through play and the importance of developing social-emotional skills. By teaching students skills in self-awareness, self-management, getting along with others, and decision-making, we are giving them the foundation to be successful lifelong learners in society.

In the report published in the peer-reviewed journal Child Development, researchers led by Joseph A. Durlak, a professor emeritus of psychology at the University of Chicago, found that students who took part in social and emotional learning programs have better grades than those who did not participate.
Services
The mission of Seattle Learning Center is to provide an exciting learning environment for infant through preschool aged children. Our focus is to encourage creativity through play and physical activity. We aim to inspire children to be life-long learners and establish a cooperative relationship between parents and staff.
Seattle Learning Center employs lead teachers that have the work experience and educational background related to early childhood education. Most of our teachers have bachelor's degrees or a CDA (Child Development Associate Credential). The leaders and administrators of the school have master's degrees in education and extensive child care work experience.
Seattle Learning Center, a play-based early learning and preschool, just created an opportunity for a remarkable teacher to join our teaching team. A bit about us. Ten years ago, our founder Lily Talley opened Seattle Learning Center. Born in the Philippines, Lily has always wanted to be a teacher.
Throughout these centers, children are able to explore and discover concepts such as number recognition, counting, matching, letter recognition, sounds, rhyming, and much more through free play. Our students play outside daily, rain or shine (except for inclement weather). A variety of equipment is provided for children to develop their bodies and coordination with climbing, crawling, and sliding.
At Seattle Learning Center, we incorporate multiple teaching philosophies into our school to create an educational, fun, and respectful environment. Our focus is to help children build social-emotional skills to become confident and respectful learners.

By incorporating RIE principles, Montessori concepts, Positive Behavior Support methods, and Creative Curriculum, we feel that our center utilizes some of the best tools in early childhood education.Basic trust in the child to be an initiator, explorer, and a self-learner: It means believing in your child's competence and supporting her authenticity.

We love this place! Both of our sons have been there since they were 12-week-olds, full-time, and they have received the most wonderful care. The caregivers are lovely, compassionate, and loving. The environment is warm, friendly, and obviously kid centric. We feel like our kids grew emotionally, socially, and intellectually. We feel very fortunate to have had them has our partners in raising our sons.
