Positive learning experiences at an early age contribute to the development of a child's sense of self and emotional well-being. We believe that learning is a natural, enjoyable process ideally experienced in a stimulating, developmentally appropriate, safe environment. Children thrive best in a program that is integrated across academic disciplines and grounded in the concepts of social responsibility.
Seabird Preschool's goal is to nurture, guide, and support our preschoolers by giving them appropriate tools to grow and challenge themselves emotionally, socially, and cognitively. We are committed to providing an enriching, nurturing, educational program that is play-based, yet also allows for individual freedom.

Services
We believe that play is essential to children's learning and development. Our curriculum is constructed around the belief that "play is a child's work, " recognizing that children learn best through play. Our program addresses the individual, social, emotional and educational needs of children between the ages of 2 to entering kindergarten.
Our goal for our Puffins is to focus on language development and social/emotional skills. Since Puffins are the youngest of the class, the first half of the year is dedicated to adjusting them to a school environment. As they become more comfortable as part of the community, we work on expanding their motor, verbal and cognitive skills to prepare them for growth in the following years.
Our goal for Penguins is to focus on developing the overall child. We guide the children into positive interactions and improve social skills as they transition from parallel play to cooperative play. Children are introduced to more complex activities to help them problem solve, develop their motor skills, cognitive skills and language development.
As the oldest members of the school, our goal for our Pelicans is to extend language and social interaction skills, while introducing pre-academic skills. With this group, there is a strong focus on language development through oral interactions and comprehension with activities that are longer in duration and more challenging.
In addition to our regular play-based program Seabird also offers language immersion programs. In the Fall of 2021 we started offering Mandarin Immersion program. In the future, as our facility expands to different locations we will be offering Spanish and French immersion program.
Our goal at Seabird for the Mandarin immersion program is to have children (3-5 years old) naturally learn the language through repetition, songs, stories, interactive activities, visual cues and cultural activities. The staff will focus on proper tones, patterns and accurate pronunciation. Our environment will be enriched with chinese characters, photos and cultural representations to encourage additional learning throughout the day.

We LOVE Seabird preschool! Director with 20+ years experience, brand-new light-filled facility, incredibly dedicated teachers, supportive parent community ... we couldn't be happier! We don't think there's a better private preschool than Seabird in the city.
My daughter started at age 2 with the theme-based summer camps. She had been enrolled at another school for the fall (after extensive research, tours, interviewing...), but after starting there, the comparison between Seabird was shocking and we were soon back. We are so grateful for the Seabird staff's deep knowledge

Fhew! What a relief! Seabird is the most wonderful preschool in the hard to find schools of San Francisco. We looked for so long and wanted a very safe, new and very clean feel to a school with excellent outgoing teachers, not an old musty San Francisco kids dungeon, that many older buildings can be. This school is all new construction, zen space, beautiful and extremely safe playground, very knowledgeable and lively teaching staff that loves our daughter to pieces. I cannot explain how happy I get leaving my daughter in the hands of all the amazing teachers and stellar director Mei! My daughter

Wow! What a beautiful school! You can tell a lot of thought & hard work went into the design & layout, amazing outdoor play areas, the classrooms are so bright & spacious, they truly thought of everything. We toured the school, the teachers & the staff are very knowledgeable. The owners were amazing warm people too! Unfortunately, we are now moving out of state so my son will not be able to attend, I'm disappointed we're going to miss out on this opportunity.

We are so excited about Seabirds! The owners and staff did an amazing job building such an incredible school. My husband is in hospitality and he refers to Seabirds as "the St. Regis of Preschools!" It's true! They really thought of everything. Not only are all the amenities for the kids beyond what you'd ever hope for but the teachers are just as amazing. San Francisco has become so competitive and intimidating with preschool enrollment and this school is very different. Warm and welcoming is the feeling we got. We are excited for our son to start soon!

Simply Impressive! This brand new state of the art preK center with experienced teachers in the midst of hustle and bustle of SF city is a true gem... a mekka for kids! Spacious outdoor playground, bright (lots of natural lighting) modern facilities concentrating for both fine and gross motor skills and oh the elephant automatic toilets :0 You have to check it out to believe it! Btw the location is fab to work too (5 min away from the landmark TransAm Pyramid building)

WOW! Brand-new facility, friendly teachers and a great play-based program. They are now accepting applications and are holding open houses throughout January, February and March!
Absolutely no waitlist which is shocking for San Francisco preschools! I definitely recommend stopping by and applying if you're in the market for a great preschool!

Starting my search for preschools and quickly finding that I am late in the game for SF parents! However, I came across a new site opening near my office and attended one of their open houses. Tons of indoor/outdoor space, totally secure AND HAS OPEN ENROLLMENT! Erika, the Director accepted my application on the spot!

I made it to Seabird's open house and was so impressed by everything that their brand new site has to offer! They have two classrooms beautifully designed and the teachers were very knowledgeable. The best part was their playground, that was definitely the selling points for our little one! Can't wait for the grand opening.

A colleague of mine came to Seabird Preschool for one of their open house and told me it was really good ( especially since she knows I am a very picky mom) so I went to their website and saw that they offered one today too so I swung by. I met Erika and she introduced herself as the director and was detailed and knowledgeable. I can say this as I have a lengthy list of question and were answered. After visiting 10 preschool thus far, I can say this by far is one of the best.
