The best way to ensure that your family's vision is healthy is to make sure every member of your family has a regular comprehensive eye exam. Some vision problems are symptom-less and pain-free, making it hard to know whether or not you might have a problem. The most effective method for detecting vision problems is through a comprehensive eye exam performed by an eye doctor.
Dr. Slikker recommends yearly eye exams. Dr. Slikker performs comprehensive eye exams that include testing for cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other eye disease. She is also therapeutically licensed and prescribes medications for eye infections and other eye conditions. Dr. Slikker prescribes glasses and fits contact lenses, including colored, bifocal, and astigmatism correcting lenses.

I use to like coming here to get my eye exam but not anymore. The customer service has gone down hill drastically. Making appointments times is useless because you end up waiting 30 minutes to 1 hour after your appointment time. I will look for a new place and will not drive the extra miles to come to this office anymore.

If you're visiting Robyn's office at Costco, plan to spend an hour or two in their waiting room. I had an appointment at 4:10 p.m. and it's 5:25 p.m. and I'm still sitting in the waiting room. The staff here is very quick to say they have no control over the schedule or the amount of time you'll have to wait to see a doctor. The optical department also now closes at 5:30 p.m. due to staff shortages so I'll have to come back another day to pick up my contacts. Customer service is very poor and has gone downhill since the last time I visited here.

The staff and system are unorganized. My one and only experience is I scheduled online, simple enough. The day before the exam, a message was left that their machine was broken and they couldn't do an eye exam but I could bring my glasses otherwise I should reschedule. I called back 20 minutes later (before 5 pm) and left a message I don't wear glasses and would reschedule.
The day of what was to be the appointment, I received a text message saying they look forward to my appointment that day. I replied asking if the machine had been fixed because I was told to reschedule . After receiving no

I have been seeing Dr. Slikker for 16 years at the Mission Valley Costco. She is amazing! I don’t feel like I’m being sent through an assembly line when I go to see her. She remembers me, she remembers what we talked about in my life at my last appointment. I feel that she really cares about me as a patient. I have seen one other doctor at this location and the time that I have been seeing Dr. Slikker and I do not speak highly of him. I would strongly suggest that you see Dr. Slikker on a regular basis. I always feel that she takes the time to really make sure that my eyes are healthy and that

Two stars because Dr. Slikker was patient with my wife's immature English during the exam. Big flop from there. Bought frames with lenses per Rx; I was shocked by how poor my wife's eyes were using corrective lenses. Called and was told my technician that my wife's astigmatism precluded better than 20/25 sight. That statement was as far as we got with her. Expected- "maybe you better come in to check it out" - or something. Feel like we were blown off. Don't remember hearing the 20/25 caveat at the time of the exam, but can't swear that we weren't told then. Seems we would have remembered that

The receptionists literally do not do their job. I went in to schedule an appointment and got one the next day. When I go in the next day, they say I’m not on the schedule. Once I got the exam, the woman who did it was very friendly. But because they are not part of the vision center, you must ask for your prescription to be transferred to get glasses or contacts (no one mentioned this at the time). I’ve been calling for WEEKS and have left multiple voicemails to ask them to transfer my prescription so I can order contacts and haven’t heard back. It would take 1 minute to call back and confirm

Optometrist Ryan Nguyen hurried through my exam. The very, very little* he was able to articulate came off not only as rude, but highly unprofessional.
There is a certain level of expectation with certain service industries, as there is for medical services, and this was akin to a cheap $10 dollar haircut where you’re wondering if your barber is gonna slice your ear off AND you agreed to it so you better like it. Or a nail salon. Or a foot massager.
Do not ask Ryan to repeat himself because he’s not having it, he’s snappy, his word is final. He claimed he has worked with many offices and

If i could leave zero stars, i would! Tracy at Dr. Slikkers office was so rude and had terrible customer service. She claimed she walked out to see if i was in line for my doctor's appointment. But she did not! I was waiting for over 7 minutes and i did not see anyone walk out. I was also calling them right in front of them and neither of the two assistants answered the phone. I am pleased to know i did not waste my money here and will continue to tell everyone i know not to come here.

Optometrist Ryan Nguyen was hurrying through my exam and don't think I got the right prescription because of it. I told him I had astigmatism in the past and he said it doesn't matter...?
Piss poor customer service when buying my contacts, then found out I was served by the manager herself. She was rude to send me line to line making me wait 30mins prior to actually helping me get my contacts. She took my payment THEN told me my prescriptions weren't in stock until several days later. I cancelled the order and walked out.

Conveniently located in the CostCo Mission Valley. Had an eye exam yesterday and the staff was all great, very prompt and professional. I believe my doctors name was Ban Hui and she was very friendly and answered my questions. Very professional! I highly recommend them. The whole process took about 30 min.
