A truly exceptional service! I do not live in SD, but had bought a pair of glasses from them while visiting the area a couple of years ago. Last year I thought to take the risk and purchase a pair of glasses I saw on their website without ever trying them (also on the last day of Dec. before my VSP expired :) and oh-my(!) their customer service went above and beyond and thoroughly wrote the details of each model I liked in email and also accomodated my purchase in time. This was a level of customer service I honestly have not come across, EVER! At the end the glasses that I chose with their help

Just had my first exam there. Very thorough. I’m waiting for my glasses so that will be the most important test of whether I approve of this place. I’ve heard good things so I’m hopeful. As for frames, picking out a frame is 5-star experience here. Very spendy but terrific selection. Great assistance from optician. If you wear your glasses everyday, perfect frames are something you can enjoy the comfort and appearance of constantly. So I highly recommend this place.

I've moved out of the area but still return to Urban Optiks because of their excellent customer service. Recently I had to have a pair of frames adjusted. For months I'd been struggling with them sliding down my nose but wasn't comfortable with any up-close experience during the pandemic. Finally the time was right and I was able to make the trip to San Diego. Tracey was so understanding about the fact that I was trying to cram several things into one day and my schedule kept changing. Dr. Chen is very friendly & great at her job. She was warm and engaged me in conversation and also made sure all my needs were met and questions answered. Frames at this store can be a little on the pricey side and are very cute and trendy. Go here for excellent service and consider taking your Rx to a cheap online option (e.g. eye buy direct, firmoo) for frames.

Been going here for about a year and absolutely love it! The optometrists and opticians are very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly, as well as very conscious of covid. They're always very helpful when it comes to navigating insurance to get the best value from your plan.
And as a huge added bonus, none of the brands they sell are owned by Luxottica.

I've been going to Dr. Klein for years and their new doc is great as well! Kristy has helped me pick out several pairs of glasses over the years. I got my eyes checked in March just before everything closed down and I was in need of a new pair of glasses.
I knew that they'd have the staff in great shape in masks and with good ventilation and they did! I was super impressed, however, with their personalized shopping experience to help me make a decision. Tracey was personable, thoughtful, and intuitive in helping me. I had fun and cannot wait to sport the new look!

I just got my new glasses and they are the best pair I have ever had - never seen better! Having worn glasses most of my life, I appreciate the quality and wonderful selection of frames I haven't seen elsewhere. They also use premium lenses to ensure best possible vision. My prescription is pretty complex and requires precise measurements but they have special instruments to perform this at different angles as you wear the frame. Could not be happier!

Urban Optiks was recommended to me by a friend (who knows about glasses) when I needed to get glasses. They have an amazing selection of glasses and the staff is beyond helpful. This place has selection of frames that you simply won't find anywhere else in SD. And they range from "reasonable" to the "I don't care about price, I just want the best there is". But more importantly, the optometrist is very thorough and comforting, and their shop has all the cutting edge technology. Additionally, the service advisors (I think is Allen was who I worked with) are extremely informative with explaining options and benefits, and they are committed to getting every detail perfect so you are getting the best eyeglasses/experience possible. Highly recommend

I'm traveling and needed a replacement lense shipped to me, they went above and beyond, I'll have my replacement lenses in. Few weeks. Big shout out to Kristi for the AMAZING service and quick resolution to making a customer a priority. I've gone to Urban Optiks for two years in a row. The first year was my first time going to an Optometry and the first time getting eye glasses.
I recently went back for my check up. Dr. Klein prescribed me the best lense that would help with my vision and even slow the progression of myopia.
Be sure to ask for regular prescription as well if you would like to have more options in regards to lenses and frames.

Dr Klien did a great job with my wife and I today. I was long overdue for an exam and have both astigmatism and issues with farsightedness.
No dialation was necessary due to the cameras they have and the selection of lenses was ecletic and really interesting. I ended up with a set of readers from LA Eyewear "husk". Kristie was great with showing me a ton of frames. Great experience overall, looking forward to seeing again!
