We are an independent private practice, which means our optometrists have the freedom to do what's right for our patients. There are no franchise agreements that tell us what to prescribe, nor are we pressured by stock holders to maximize profits. Our team of Optometrists is driven to bring you exceptional outcomes, efficiently and cost-effectively.

As a multi-doctor practice with a large established patient base, our buying power allows us to negotiate favorable pricing on eyeglasses and contact lenses, passing the savings to our clientele.
Our Rancho Bernardo eye doctors are dedicated to serving the eye care needs of San Diego residents. Rest assured, each eye specialist doctor at EyeLux Optometry is certified to diagnose and treat ocular disease with topical and oral pharmaceutical privileges. They are seasoned professionals that detect and manage complex eye conditions which you probably have never heard nor even knew existed.
Dr. Coleman is a graduate of the University of Denver and received her optometric degree Magna Cum Laude from the Southern California College of Optometry. She has completed internships for the Naval Medical Center, San Diego; Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital, Oceanside; Sharp-Rees Stealy Medical Group, San Diego; SCCO Eye Center, Fullerton; Boys & Girls Club, Garden Grove and the TLC Laser Vision, Irvine.

Neg: one optician made errors that caused my frames to go back once or twice.

It's hard to get opticians time , usually busy with customers.

positive: when i need frame adjustments, they spent lot of time.

positive: The prescription didn't work out so Dr cooper immediately took more eye exam steps.

I went in for a quote on new lenses for frames I bought at this location. The price was too high so I started to leave. The tech offered to put new nose pads on and BROKE THE FRAME. They could not repair the glasses and would not offer anything to make up for it. They don't seem to take care of their customers.

Dr. Cooper is so nice, and so professional! He was very informative. I felt like my eye health, and vision was thoroughly examined.
Norma was my optician, and she helped me get my glasses all set up, and ready to order. She has helped me several times, and is so efficient. I felt I was in very good hands. Norma was very thorough, and explains all my options, to get the best vision possible.
I highly recommend Eye Lux in 4S Ranch. Dr. Cooper is such a gifted doctor, and an asset to his field.

If I could give it 0, I would. I called and left messages twice over a week. Finally, I drove there because they never returned my messages. As I got there, they were locking up for lunch. The first woman refused to talk to me, saying come back later. Finally I gave my number to a young man leaving -he reluctantly took my number. Now 4 hours have passed and still no call.
I wouldn't trust them to walk my dog!
I originally saw Kimberly Michel at Eyelux , O.D.. SHE WAS FANTASTIC!! she left Eyelux. I located her in a practice she owns in Costco, in Vista. She is definitely worth the drive!!

I have never actually been to this office as a patient. I made an appointment last week for an eye exam today. Last night I got ill and am not certain I do not have COVID even though I am fully vaccinated. I called this morning to reschedule. I was told by the receptionist that she didn't know if I would be charged a $35 cancellation fee which is their new policy. She told me she would check with the Manager and call me back after lunch. She never actually rescheduled the appointment. I never received a call back so I called again. I was told that unfortunately they had to charge me

So the positive. Doctors are great and the staff helping select and fit glasses are very helpful. However as others have said the front desk staff need to be replaced. The customer service is atrocious. It's bad when the staff helping select glasses call over to you that someone will be with you in a minute when the three staff behind the counter cant even raise their eyes to say hi. As a business they are going to lose customers because of this. Is it that hard to get friendly and efficient staff. Every other medical office I go to seems to have them. Poor customer service. It's seemed like I even owe them something when I ask. All were on the phone and I understand that but they were all just looking at me. One woman asked what I need and seemed irritated going over her computer and left me standing. When I finally told her who my Mom spoke with, she was like " well Julie's in the phone, just take a seat and we'll call you". Whoever worked on 01/27/21, ya'll need to take a brief moment and reflect.

Love Dr. Cooper but hate the office and the staff. They make repeated errors on billing. Just received a bill January 2021 for an appointment that I had February 2019. I believe everything has been paid for, and now I have to go through all of my records to dispute a charge that they are just now deciding they want to bill me for even when it went through my VSP insurance to begin with.

All I can say is either Covid has created the worst customer service or they are just plain bad. I schedule an appointment online. They give me a time, etc. I go in and after filling out paperwork and waiting 20 minutes, they tell me I don't have an appointment but a request for an appointment. Lol. How mind boggling stupid. She then calming and without a care that I'd been there thinking I had an appointment if I wanted to schedule one. I said no, even though I don't have any glasses as mine broke. Anyway. I completely miss the old owners that used to be here, I used to go to their old location and continued coming to them when they moved despite it being quite far from my house. I'm not sure when they switched but I dislike the new doctors. Probably an honest mistake but Dr. Brooke Coleman ordered me the completely wrong brand of contacts (my old brand biofinity, instead of acuvue that I've been on for a full year already), so when I drove 11 miles to come pick them up I requested that the correct brand be shipped to my house and I was told I would have to pay 10 dollar shipping... seriously

It's a month since I ordered and paid for my glasses. The office said that it would be 10 days. I never was given an update as too why it was taking so long. No one answers their main number and always goes to a voicemail. They need to step up their customer service game. Nice selection of glasses but not good customer service.

My eyeglasses got accidentally tweaked. I went over here and their service was great! Monica fixed my eyeglasses in no time and put in new nose pads too. Thank you Eyelux for the great service!

Made an appointment a month in advance, they asked me to reschedule the morning of the appointment. Their site wouldn't let me reschedule and no one responded to my email. I decided to go I. Since their site showed an option for appointments that afternoon but was told they were booked.

Horrible horrible horrible customer service.The lady did not go over any type of options for my sunglasses, instead she put the most expensive option without my knowledge!!!! When I called to complain, the supervisor was not really apologetic. I would not go here!!

I'm very particular about optometrists. A "Karen" if you will. I've been to a few rundown places in my time. Eyelux, from the moment I walked in, was very well taken care of. The staff were friendly and acknowledged me from the moment I walked in. Eric was very kind and informative of what to expect on the paperwork. Amanda was a stellar technician! Super thorough, speedy, but not rushing me, which I appreciate. Dr. Coleman was awesome too. I absolutely recommend this practice.

I will never go to Eyelux nor recommend them, I have been dealing with the same issue regarding my glasses, they just aren't getting them correct, so today 2/28 I had an appointment with Megan ( who told me via phone she was the Manager, not true), she was rude and told me that I did not want to resolve the issue, so now she will contact " Veronica" via email about a refund, I deserve a full refund so I can go to a place that knows what they are doing

Staff is very friendly. Front desk was professional and the tech that prepped me was very sweet and personable. Dr. Brooke Coleman is extremely friendly professional and definitely knows her stuff. Would highly recommend EyeLux Optometry for all of your eye needs!!

The place has staff who doesn't have any knowledge of insurance benefits and give wrong information with confidence and show attitude. The place had a good variety of the eyeframe but the wrong attitude of the staff makes one have Trust issues with this place.

Go elsewhere.
