East Sac Yoga offers gentle, Ananda Yoga, accessible to all body types and experience levels. Classes are offered at 3 convenient locations. Above all, it seeks to raise your level of consciousness by reinforcing the natural effects of the yoga postures. With this, it is also designed to harmonize your body, mind, and soul.
Yoga posture practice in Ananda Yoga is gentle for beginning students, becoming more challenging with experience. It is an inwardly directed practice, and is never aggressive or aerobic. Adaptation - modifying each yoga posture to fit the needs and abilities of the practitioner rather than trying to force the practitioner into some "ideal" position.

Improve breathing: Yoga teaches better breathing techniques. Increasing the amount of oxygen benefits the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, and increases energy levels as well as mental concentration. Relax and release tension: By learning how to relax and release tension from the physical body, suppleness returns and with it a feeling of youthfulness.

I can’t say enough good about Sandi Russi’s yoga instruction.
I have been practicing yoga with Sandi for almost six years. There is so much about this class that makes it the best yoga class I’ve ever attended:
• Sandi’s instruction is easy to follow
• She keeps her eye on the entire class and will help you if your pose needs adjusting
• She discusses potential injury if poses are not done properly (I can’t tell you how many times I hurt myself in other classes)
• She provides alternative poses based on what would be most comfortable for class members
• She continually

Sandi is an awesome instructor, who guides us through every pose by demonstrating and talking us through it. She takes extra care to make sure we are in proper alignment and posture, to avoid injury or over-extension. I LOVE Ananda yoga for its pace and the affirmations, capped off by the closing relaxation for 15 mins. I always look forward to going to my weekly class, and feel completely restored when I head home. I have been taking classes from Sandi for several years, and I'd take more if i could schedule them!
