Update: A MONTH later and they STILL have not given me my money back. Changed my review to one star because of the amount of disrespect they are showing with this deposit situation. If a tenant were to not pay rent for as long as they have been holding ym deposit the price would have doubled. Funny.
The apartment itself is fine. Now to the complaint: I moved out almost 3 months ago and still haven't received my over $800 deposit. Every time I call about it I get thrown around, they take my number and assure me they will call back.... In 3 months of calling them consistently I have received a total

The Heights in San Marcos has been by far the worst living situation I have ever experienced. The front office is rude, disrespectful, and not the brightest. They lack any type of compassion and punctuation. The place is constantly breaking down. Since my lease began they have not once attended to any maintenance request but have ability to… constantly bombard me with phone calls and emails on a daily basis. The amount of harassment and disrespect I have received from the front office staff members, specifically Joanne is comparable to none. DONOT sign a lease here.

The Heights front office staff is extremely unprofessional. They are not equipped to meet the needs of all their residents in an equal manner, nor can they perform their own job responsibilities. They lack accountability, structure, and punctuation. The front office team members are incapable of solving problems in an ethical manner. As a current tenant I have experienced nothing but dishonesty, disrespect, and a complete lack of compassion.

Absolute worst experience here. The apartments themselves are crusty and not cleaned before move in day. Everything was broke in my kitchen from cabinets to the ice machine. Don’t even get me started on my room!! Was disgusted to find dog hair everywhere and the closet door was broken and so was the window. Had a horrible smell linger in the room even after cleaning. The people in the office need to get fired!!!! Especially Joanne !! The most disrespectful employee I have ever had to deal with!!! She had no sympathy or respect towards any issues I was having. She would give me these looks that

We picked this place primarily due to the price. Yes, it is an older complex and some of the furniture and appliances show wear and tear, but my son doesn’t seem to mind it. They did give him a new sofa and new armchair within a week of moving in and his washer and dryer appear to be fairly new. I saw some reviews showing that their apartment was a wreck when they moved in indicating there was no management cleanup between tenants. We did not have that problem. The apartment itself was very clean (although when we replaced the AC filter it seemed like it had been neglected for quite a while-my

Chandler, Johanna, and Ray are amazing! Chandler is such a sweet young lady and knows my roommate and I’s name!
Johanna is a hard worker who gets everything done!
Ray is so sweet and kind hearted!
I really enjoy the staff here. They also have this guy who works all day and all night, but I don’t know his name! I appreciate all the hard work he does for the heights community!

This place deserves -5 stars if we're being honest. I do not recommend staying here. DON'T let the cheap price fool you. The management is horrible, they will charge your account without giving you notice and lie about the charges when you ask about them so that they incur a late fee. Then they will force you to pay all of the fees even though they didn't alert you to the initial charge put on your account. Staff isn't responsive at all, Pest control is horrible to the point where you have to buy your own exterminating supplies from the store and do the procedure yourself. Maintenance is also terrible

Round 2: I recently moved from my old apartment which had problems of its own but this one sets the tone for how terrible the heights is. I moved in on August 7th to an apartment filled with the previous residents old covers, shower liners and an assortment of other nasty belongings. There was no maintenance or cleaning done to prepare the apartment for me. I had to spend a few days deep cleaning the apartment because the heights didn't event attempt to clean it themselves. Among those was the terrible roach infestation. There seem to be an infinite number of roaches running all over the place

Absolutely do not recommend. On move-in day I waited in line for an hour to check in because they had one person working to move 400+ people in, and the manager was cutting keys ON THE DAY OF as people were checking in. After I waited in line to check in for an hour, I waited for nearly another two hours to get my key. Office staff & management… staff seemed rude and unconcerned with issues that came up. Meanwhile, my brother moved into a different apartment complex and check-in took three minutes - the way it should have been.
I paid a full month's rent for August to live in the apartment

My little brother received his keys today to enter an apartment that looks like a crime scene! It was filthy! They definitely did not clean this place up after the last tenants, before handing out the keys! The… inside of these apartments look nothing like what they are advertising! My mother requested to see the apartment weeks ago and they said no. How convenient there was no manager available. My brother was hoping to stay there tonight after trying to move all his stuff there! Now he and his stuff are returning to my home. A long day of moving wasted! This complex is wrong for what they

Imagine receiving a call from a crying daughter because she received an email 4 days before moving into an apartment that tells you that they over booked and don't have a room available for you. This is after signing a lease agreement with them months ago and paying for the first month's rent already. So you have to scramble, miss a day of work… costing the family income $600, drive 200 miles to San Marcos and apartment shop all over again. What kind of clown show is this? They even had the nerve to tell us in the notification email that we could "cancel your lease, without penalty." Wow

My daughter signed a lease in February and was due to move in on August 17. They e-mailed her on August 13 and told her that they had double-booked her apartment and now she has nowhere to live. We have already paid the first months rent and pet deposit and they need to mail a refund from the corporate office. Meanwhile she is scrambling and needs the money now for a deposit somewhere else. Don’t risk it. STAY AWAY!
