Do not let the pics fool you! Having my son live here has been a nightmare. The unit had a broken couch, there were roaches(live and dead), dead flies on the blinds, and much more. Tried to give the property management team a chance to fix which communication was awful. I understand short staffing but if the unit had been cleaned and ready from day one we wouldn’t have lost our patience. Tried calling office in Atlanta and not sure anyone exist in that office. My suggestion is look at an actual unit not the model! Would never suggest this complex!

DO NOT MOVE HERE. I LIVED HERE LAST YEAR MOVED OUT THIS PAST AUGUST. They said there was writing and holes on my walls and my carpet was a mess. Ummm no. I am the most cleanest and organized person here. I am not a kid so of course there was no writing on the walls. The art i hanged was put up by command strips. Also I cleaned and scrubbed every inch when i moved out. They didn't give me my whole deposit back. Oh and get this, i had MOLD IN MY RESTROOM AND WHEN I CALLED MAINTENANCE THEY NEVER EVER ANSWERED OR CLEANED IT!!! So guess who they blamed for it. The mold was caused by the water pipe

I have no idea why there are some bad comments on here. When I first moved in I had problems with the new roommate I had and they understood and fixed it. I had a shower problem and I went to the office and they fixed it same day. The front is always nice when I have to get packages and they have a coffee machine right in the front. I used to live at the lodge and this apartment is 100 times better and the staff is outstanding.

My experience at uptown has not been good so far. I moved in August 2021 and since have had reoccurring issues. When you move in they will tell you that they do not have predatory towing, that is in fact a lie. My car got towed a few days after I moved in because i had accidentally parked in a reserved spot. Keep in mind that they have hardly any lighting in the parking lot at night and they don't have reserved signs posted at all the reserved spots like people would assume. Instead they had it marked on the ground in nearly chipped off paint, mind you they weren't even supposed to be

Do NOT trust the good reviews. I can list off so many reasons why and I have only been here for a few months.

If you hate yourself then sign your lease here. Uptown square is far from being luxury apartments. One of maintenance man use to be a former drug dealer so that should tell you the type of people they hire. I've seen the homeless people who live near in the motel next to uptown square come to swim at the pool. During the year, I had rats in my kitchen cabinets. I had requested for maintenance and waited in my apartment the entire day for the maintenance man that never came. While my child lived there one person was killed and she counted at least 5 times that the police were there. The halls in front of her apartment were so disgusting & smelly that you literally had to had to hold your nose/breath while she walked to her apartment be it from filth or the birds making nests and clogging up the fire sprinklers (city fire ordinance code not being followed) or the bird crap that was on the ground. NEED BETTER MANAGEMENT. All the "management" does is sit in office and hide rather than trying to fix problems for the residents. I reported that I had MOLD in my apartment that I could visibly see in may, I'm sure it has been there longer. Maintence came to knock the dry way out, leaving a open wall in my bathroom. I took an apartment 'as is' that someone else moved out of, and they said it would be lightly cleaned. The only one who cleaned it was the previous owner and management never checked. Couch was covered in cat whole claws, and all the screws in the walls from the previous tenant ( I forgot to put them on my move in sheet and then got charged for it)

Rented allot of apartments over the years...this was the absolute worse! Filthy, run down apartment and not functioning appliances...and that was day one of my experience at Uptown. Constant turnover in the front office, horrible management and communication, constant requests for maintenance and thin walls/floors with terrible noise problems. Oh and just wait until it is time to move out. You can kiss your security deposit goodbye because they will find a way to keep it and maybe even come up with some more random charges just to kick you on the way out. I've lived at uptown for a year and strongly disagree with most of the reviews left on here. While upon initial move in, my roommates carpet was dirty, but they replaced it the next day. Maintenance is always super helpful and responsive. I've never had any negative interactions with the staff and their Instagram is really interactive and fun with giveaways and even the comment section in general. This is my first year living at Uptown and it has been an awesome experience! I have met a lot of friends at the volleyball court and the pool is unbelievable. The staff host fun events like providing breakfast on the go before school which is CLUTCH!! This is a fun and nice place to live for anyone looking for an apartment, especially from moving to San Marcos just this year. Staff is the best and maintenance too.

The rooms on the two bedroom apartment are super small. The only thing that caught my eye was the spacious bathroom and closet. The kitchen is a decent size considering it's only for two people, but the living room was small. There's not a lot of space to have friends hangout since there's only one small L shaped couch.

My son is living at uptown and these apartments have a rat problem. We contacted management today about the rat inside his apartment and in the hallways. No help or support from management.
Beware that they will promise an apartment when you tour the facility but when you move in you’ll be surprised that the apartment you were promised has been… given to someone else. Yes in their contract it says that this is not what they do but it just happened to two families.
What about the active shooter recently? Let’s just say that all media has been removed about this situation.

They let my roommates 30 year old FELON boyfriend (drugs and domestic abuse) live at my apartment, even after countless of times I communicated the issue. They suggested I call the police & when I finally did, the police couldn't do anything about it, for it was a civil matter that the complex should have taken care of. The police told me they have dealt with situations like this with Uptown (the police officer seemed very annoyed). Uptown suggest residents to call

I lived here last year and at first I love it but once it comes to these people doing there jobs they're a hot mess. Elevator wasn't inspected when it was supposed to be. I found a sublet and I moved out the day everyone's lease ended, July 31st and these fools just took my name off the utility bill because I did something about it, and the simple bills is going to try and get me to pay for months that I have not lived there. So many better places to live where people do their jobs.

I lived at Uptown for my sophomore year at Texas State. Rented out a one bedroom. Did not have a single problem with the complex. Internet always worked, always had hot water, maintenance never entered my unit without me being there. Overall a great expierence. my beautiful daughter moved here- as parents we were confident this upscale, gated community met all of our safety needs. this is not the case!! my daughter had a stalker living at the complex and we had to get police involved, she called us all hours of the night saying she heard gun shots and the leasing agent gave someone a key to her apartment without checking for id- this is after they were aware of the stalker incident!
the final straw was when she witnessed a bloody dead body in front of her apt with cops everywhere and she couldnt even get out of the parking lot

There is never hot water and the stream of water in shower barely has any pressure. Multiple complaints already and have had to submit many maintenance requests. When I moved in, my apartment was never cleaned out prior to the previous user. Maintenance staff are dirty and nosy, they s**t in your room whenever they walk in without even consultation on proper time to come. Overall this is a terrible apartment complex. I am not satisfied. I lived here for the entirety of my time at TXST so 3 years. First off, they make you fill out a roommate matching chart. I wrote on there no roommates under 25; i was 26 when i moved in and knew living with a teen or young 20 year old just wouldn't work. My roommate the first year was 18. She moved out, i reminded them no one under 25 again, my next roommate was 18 and autistic which was extremely difficult for me. She moved out, i reminded them yet again no one under 25, they moved in a 3rd 18year old who ended up moving out after i caught her boyfriend going through my purse. I feel like

Apartment management takes no action on resident requests, especially if they know they are students. They are only responsive if parents paying the rent get involved. Taking three days to unclog a toilet is unacceptable but common.
Parking is atrocious and residents and their guests are constantly having their vehicles towed.
We've had constant problems with maintenance leaving our daughter's apartment unlocked as well which is a SERIOUS safety hazard.
