SERENITY FIRST is committed to offering support to the Families of our community to improve communication and provide prevention tools to face the mental health and substance use challenges facing society today. Counseling services provided by licensed social workers, marriage family therapists and licensed independent substance abuse counselors. Provides community outreach services and activities related to prevalent issues of today's families.
Services
Counseling services via telehealth provided by licensed social workers, marriage family therapists and licensed independent substance abuse counselors. Joan has been a licensed Marriage Family Therapist with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners since 2005 and moved to Southern Arizona from California in 2018.
Skills covered include: Listening, working together, talking to each other, finding time to interact in a busy world, the principals of honest communication, sharing family values, triggers, responsibility, empathy, compassion, respect, anger management, problem solving and fair negotiation.
The Youth Coalition was formed to give the youth of our community a place to meet new people, participate in community events and have some fun activities to attend.The Coalition also provides educational curriculums to learn life skills and substance use prevention. The youth will learn how to work as a team, communicate, share ideas, and educate themselves with tools for becoming a more responsible contributor to their communities.
