Don't make appointments with these folks using their online ZocDocs option. After entering all the data into ZocDocs, when I arrived on time for my exam, they had no record of my appointment. All the data I had entered into ZocDoc had to be re-entered using a tedious interface while I waited for my exam. Had to provide all my information even though I was a repeat patient. After I completed the new set of forms,the receptionist told me I didn't need to provide all the information--just sign the forms. Wth?! Dr. Esfandiari has great "bedside" manner. He's really engaging

If I could give more than 5 stars for my doctor and my visit today, I definitely would! Dr. Esfandiari is the best! He was super caring and knowledgeable! Not only did I get a thorough exam but I learned a lot too! He takes great care of you and takes the time to answer all your questions! From the second you enter their office, you will get the sense that you’re in great hands! I will highly recommend him to all my friends and family!

I took my 7 year old to see Dr. Esfandiari for an eye exam after he failed a screening at his pediatrician's office. I had been taking him to Radys and was hesitant to try a new place. I decided to give it a shot since the secretary was very friendly and they were able to accommodate my busy schedule better than the larger facilities. I was extremely impressed with the whole experience and Dr. E was GREATwith my kid! My whole family will be switching care to SD optometry :)

I just starting seeing Dr. E recently after my optometrist of 35 years retired! I could not be more thrilled with the service i received from him and his staff. Dr. E is extremely thorough, you can tell he cares tremendously about his patients and their eye health. His staff is amazing too! My experience here was mixed. They were very nice, but they kept messing up my wife’s glasses. Then I found out optometry was covered by Kaiser with no copay, so we go there now. Kaiser has never messed up her glasses. The other thing was that the doctor would ask me if I was having trouble with reading up close “yet.” Very smug question to ask someone in their early forties.

ANOTHER breath of fresh air! Ive found my Optometrist in Clairemont! Since Im no longer in Downtown typically anymore, I needed to find a new optometrist. Last year, 2020, I tried one and I really wasn't very happy with them, but I was giving them a break since it was covid time... but after trying this place in 2021, I realize I was settling...

Had an impromptu appointment with Dr. Esfandiari. He was very friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. I really appreciated how he explained things for me and was very efficient with my time. His staff was also very friendly and helpful as well. I would definitely recommend him to all of my friends and family. Will certainly be back.

Dr. E is one of the best optometrists that I’ve interacted with - measured across 19 years of wearing glasses / lenses. He is extremely knowledgeable and is able to provide a game plan if there are ever any issues with eye health. I moved out to San Diego 5 years ago, and after careful research, I found Dr. E, and would recommend him immediately. His demeanor and ability to connect with patients for a proper fitting of lenses / glasses also ties in with his ability to suggest glasses that actually look good on my face and are stylish, haha. We found San Diego Optometry on the recommendation of a friend. I was looking for a nice optometrist to bring my teenage daughter where she would feel comfortable and ideally that takes my insurance. Previously I took her to a big box eye doctor where we could also order glasses but that wasn't pleasant and the eye doctor associated with her pediatrician had a months long wait. I loved San Diego Optometry and Dr. E! The office is nice, staff is professional and welcoming, and Dr. E is so friendly and knowledgeable and talked to my daughter answering questions on how glasses work with the eyes

I strongly recommend seeing Dr. E for your eye health needs. I just moved and needed to find a new eye doctor. It was super easy making an appointment, and the office is doing a great job with covid precautions. There's only one patient in the office at a time, everything is sanitized, and everyone is wearing masks.
Dr. E was great! Very knowledge, very friendly, and easy to talk to. He thoroughly answered all of my questions and made great recommendations. And the visit was great. It started on time and was very efficient time-wise.

My experience at San Diego Optometry was extremely smooth and pleasant. Dr. Esfandiari is super knowledgeable, helpful, and personable! Simply the best!!! Great service, knowledgable staff with reasonable prices. Dr. Esfandiari, aka Dr. E, was so helpful. I lost my glasses and he was able to take care of me super fast! Dr.Rambod was awesome.His knowledge and friendly approach using the latest technology without making you clear your bank account was what I like the most.
We've enjoyed so much that my wife was only in there to drive me back home but still the end we both did the annual eye tests without compromising our vision for a few hours.
The prescription glasses also had a decent price tag on it.
Strongly recommend.

I am retired and of the age that presbyopia is a huge problem with my vision. I am slightly farsighted but both eyes also have a non-negligible amount of astigmatism. I have been wearing glasses for 30 some years but recently I purchased a new camera with an electronic viewfinder (EVF) and my glasses prevent me from seeing the data displayed inside the viewfinder around the edges of the display. Very disappointing. So I though I would give contacts a try.

Best optometrist ever!
My previous optometrist gave me attitude because I was complaining about how my vision in my eyes differs. And they told me "it's just a slight difference, it isn't that serious". Well to be quite frank, it is serious to me if I'm complaining about it because I would like to maximize my eyesight with contacts and glasses as much as I can. If you want to know who my previous optometrist is, send me a message and I'll tell you so you can avoid them too LOL.

This is by far the best optometry office I've ever been to! Dr. E and the other doctors here are hands down the kindest, most caring, and INCREDIBLY PATIENT people who GENUINELY care about their patients.
Over the summer I was healing from a broken ankle, so I think my immune system was a bit suppressed from that, making me more prone to eye infections and what not. I was also towards the end of writing my first book and was spending hours on end staring at the computer. That, along with the stress I was under at that time, only made things worse.

I visited Dr. Esfandiari for the first time when I was on vacation in San Diego. He was able to squeeze me in the same day I called and I had the most pleasant and insightful experience at San Diego Optometry in Clairemont. I never write reviews but I had such a wonderful experience at San Diego Optometry I felt it was the right thing to do. I had a problem with my insurance and Dr. Esfandiari himself helped me by calling the insurance company. I've never seen a Dr. take time out of their busy schedule to do something like that. Both he and his staff were very friendly and professional. My neighbor goes to San Diego Optometry and I can see why she highly recommended this place. I am very happy with my first experience here and relieved that I finally found a good eye dr. in San Diego! =)
