Services
Cheyenne graduated from University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in Physiology & Neuroscience, and a double minor in Psychology and Literatures in English. She is a homebody but is always interested in hearing about travel stories! Cheyenne is fluent in Korean and some Spanish. She is the office manager but also operates as an optician, so feel free to ask her any optical questions!

Orthokeratology(Ortho K) or Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) is a nonsurgical procedure using specially designed contact lenses to gently reshape the curvature of the eye to improve vision. This is a revolutionary non-surgical procedure that eliminates the need for glasses or daytime contact lenses.
Eye exams are professional screenings used to evaluate the health of the eye and diagnose vision impairments and disease. Each is comprised of a series of several tests that analyze various functions of the eye, such as color differentiation, distance vision, and peripheral awareness. A comprehensive eye exam can identify vision complications during their earliest stages, providing eye doctors the opportunity to treat them more easily.
A retinal exam - also referred to as an ophthalmoscopy - is an in-office exam used to check the back of your eye. Inside our eye is a very unique part of our body because it is the only place where doctors can see bare blood vessels, a piece of the brain called the optic nerve, and the retina, which is linked to our immune system.

Found this place on Yelp and wanted to write as the entire team is great! I have to give a specific shout out to Eugene who helped me find my second pair of glasses. I had forgotten my first pair at my initial appt and he advised to bring them when I came back to pick up new purchase! I just did and he saw a scratch and said - warranty is still in place. Want new lens? Yes, Eugene! Thanks for looking out! Now I will have two sets of beautiful and quality glasses.

This is where I get my annual eye exam and for years it hasn't changed. The Doctor's really take time to get to know you and cares about your vision. Dr. Ta and Tran are both awesome people.
Super clean, sanitation is on point especially with Covid. No walk in from my understanding, you need to make an appointment.
The employees here today are all new but they are nice, friendly, knowledgeable and I love how they want to get to know you as well. Thank you Eugene, Q and Jordan. Keep up the friendly attitude you all are great!

I had the most pleasant experience at this location, Kimberly (we shared the same name!) was super nice and informative and patient! She went above and beyond, everything was well organized and clean. This will definitely be my go to place for contact lenses and glasses. Dr. Tran was also very nice and helpful!

I've been going to Dr, Tran for the past 3 years. The Dr. and his staff are so amazing. The Dr was talking to me about contact lenses because it would be better for me. So, I tried. Went back for training and Dani helped me out and she was hilarious and made my training fun and interactive. It's really nice to go to an office that whole staff is so nice. It was great to see Cheyenne and Jonathan still there as well.

The best service and optometrist in the city. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Not only did they help me through the process but they also were great guides in picking my glasses. They also took the time to ensure my glasses fit before taking them home. Dr Tran is knowledgeable and took the time out to explain things when I had questions. These days, there's a lot of options but I definitely will always return to new optix for my optometry needs.

I really liked New Optix Optometry and I would give them a five star review, but I ordered glasses and some kind of film ended up on my glasses after a period of time. I normally wear contacts so I finally went to get it taken care of and I was told that it had been over a year so they wouldn't do anything to help me. After paying as much as I did for the glasses it was a huge disappointment that they wouldn't help me with what to me seemed to be a manufacturing issue since I have never had an issue like this before.

Best optometry I've been too. Went in for a contact prescription and check-up. Jonathan was very thorough and friendly. Dr. Tran saw me quickly and took care of my goals. They have the newest tech here and even give you 10 day trials for contacts to test the prescription. Called same day and got an appointment even though they were busy. Will be recommending them to my peeps.

The team here at New Optix is the best I've seen in San Diego. Scheduling is simple, their staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are very helpful in itemizing the billing and providing a full scope of your insurance benefits and what costs you can expect. The husband and wife team of doctors are fantastic, and I feel confident in their care. Highly recommend!

Love New Optix Optometry. The front desk staff and Optometrist are all amazing and welcoming. They even have a play room for kids to play in and were so patient with my kids. We are new to the area and thankfully found this wonderful, excellent office. They take COVID sanitary measures very seriously, and patiently and cheerfully served our whole family with a caring and positive vibe even on a Saturday evening. The process was fast and easy. They are very kid friendly and were awesome with our son who loves the new glasses he chose, their selection is great! I’ve been going to New Optix since it first opened. The staff has always been polite and welcoming. I’ve been seen by both doctors and they are very professional and thorough with their practice. They always take the time to evaluate my eyes and ensure my prescription fits right for me. They don’t make you feel rushed during the exam or glasses selection process. They also answered the many questions I had regarding eye health, lasik surgery and vision loss. Dr. Tran and his team are top notch!

It took me forever to settle on an Optometry to visit but after reading countless reviews, I choose New Optix Optometry. SO GLAD THAT I DID! They were extremely helpful, kind, and took plenty of safety precautions during COVID. Their office is was super clean and had a great selection of frames to choose from. I moved to Linda Vista in 2019 and needed to find a new optometrist. I am an active glasses/contacts wearer (glasses for 20 years, contacts for 12 years) so I have annual eye appointments. I found New Optix Optometry through Yelp and thankfully, they took my vision insurance (VSP).

First time patient during COVID. Staff was very welcoming and let me look around for possible new glasses. Loved their process of leaving dirty vs clean eye wear for patients to still try on. Since re-opening back up, I could tell they've gotten busy really quick. Working as a healthcare professionale myself, I understood they were under a lot of stress and let them prioritize other patients first before me. Kim and Dani were wonderful.
