At Foster Vision, each member of our vision care team is selected by Dr. Marielle Kwon based upon her experience, professional demeanor, and dedication to providing personalized care to our optometry patients. Our entire PORTLAND optometry staff is committed to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of each and every patient.
Naturally, a lifetime of clear vision is the optimal goal of all of our patients, and our mission is to do everything we can to help promote your success. With regular comprehensive eye exams, our optometrist in Portland can identify any needs you have for corrective vision and help detect any early signs of eye disease and even certain physical health issues.
Dr. Marielle Kwon has been serving the needs of patients in the Pacific Northwest since receiving her Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 1995. Foster Vision is the culmination of Dr. Kwon's desire to provide the great care and service that have been the hallmarks of her career in a more warm and personal setting.
My first visit here was last Saturday. The staff were all extremely kind and patient and I was very satisfied with my care. They went above and beyond to help me and others while I was there. They have a great selection of frames. I was prescribed some eye drops and ended up having an issue with the cost pharmacy on Saturday after they had closed.
Walk-ins are always welcome and we're happy to accomodate our patients' busy schedule. Of course, booking an appointment beforehand guarantees availability and allows us to prepare your insurance for your visit. In the state of Oregon an eyeglass prescription is valid for 2 years. Children and patients with other health complications may require an exam more frequently.

I only ended up coming here originally because they had many open appointments when nowhere else did, but I'm so glad I ended up getting my exam and frames here! The staff is very friendly and made it seamless to schedule at an ideal time (later afternoon appointments available). They explained my benefits very simplistically yet thoroughly. Totally happy and highly recommend!

My wife and I have been doing business with Foster Vision since it opened even after we moved to Caldwell Idaho. The staff are excellent and thorough. They explain and answer all questions. They also refer their patients to other providers when they need additional care, such as cataract surgery or other surgical procedures. They have an excellent selection of frames and know how to properly fit you.
I would highly recommend Foster Vision.

This place is an absolute joke. They're horribly unprofessional and will rip you off. I'm surprised they don't require you to sign over your firstborn before they let you leave.
I was there the other day and the woman who checked me out was shouting at various employees about how they overwatered her orchid. Then, when she told me how much my contacts would cost--$780 for a pack of 90-I about blew my top. I told her no, I would get them elsewhere, and she started shouting at me about how I had to get them there. $800 for a YEAR'S worth would still be steep, but nearly $800

Up close appointments during a pandemic can be a tricky thing but this staff made my family feel safer here than we have at any other doctors office we have visited all year. The staff was kind, patient with children, attentive to our needs and helped us successfully find my child’s rx and a great pair of frames in 30 minutes. I am thrilled!

This was the best visit to an optometrist that I've ever experienced. And, this includes visits to a optometrist friend and another to an optometrist that was a client of my accounting firm. The front desk staff is welcoming, the technician efficient and the doctor competent and took questions with a smile. The visit went quickly, but wasn't rushed. The fee charged, to me: a bargain. I'll definitely be returning.

I just had a very positive experience at Foster Vision. I had a hiccup with my first appointment and decided to contact the owner directly first instead of going on-line to voice my concern. Something I wish everyone would do, give the owner a chance to make an issue right. I'm grateful I did, because Dr. Kwon was very receptive and responsive to my issue. I went back in and had a very positive experience and was told that my direct feedback was appreciated and was useful to addressing the future. I Love supporting small businesses, it's what brought me to Portland 20+ years ago

Don't like money? Hit this place up. Like getting nickle and dimed to the limits of your patience? Let's GO! If you're into getting over-charged, up-charged, and hit with "required charges from your insurance company" then by all means, pay a visit to these folks.

Very strict COVID practices- I loved it! Yo give your insurance details over the phone so you fill out minimal paperwork when arriving. You check in your your car via text, too.
The optometrist was efficient, friendly and likable. The service was quick and they gave me a paper receipt of my prescription so I could shop frame prices on my own time, instead of spending more time in their lobby to find frames.
One drawback is that the vision assistant preforming the pre-appointment tasks were bot great at explaining what would happen next; you switch rooms to have a few tests before the optometrist

I really tried to like this place but in the end I regret ever setting foot in their crowded, noisy and very busy office. I don't have insurance and I was looking for my first pair of prescription glasses. It took them three tries to get my prescription right, and even then I feel it was barely acceptable. The spring hinge broke on one of the arms and it fell off in the first year. They reluctantly ordered another and put it on for me. six months later the other arm did the same thing but this time they said I only get the first one free and it would cost $55 to order another arm, which is

This review is not the provider Dr. Munoz was awesome and if she was anywhere else I would see her again. She was very professional and informative I appreciated everything that she talked to me about. However, the staff is ridiculous after she told them to order my contacts the girl proceeded to order them without asking me how many boxes I wanted. When she told me how much I owe. I asked her how many and she said four I said that I wanted six. Because they are monthlies she said that she could not do that. That is all fine but she proceeded to tell me that she couldn't order my contacts

It came to a point in my life where I needed to decide on bifocals or go with progressive lenses. Dr. Kwon took her time, thoroughly explaining to me which option would best fit me and my lifestyle. I've heard different reviews on progressives, and honestly little hesitant. But Dr. Kwon and her friendly staff put me at ease, again explaining and going over everything. Long story short, I'm loving my new eyewear! THANK YOU Dr. Kwon!!!

Terrible customer service, they never are on time for appointments, they will check you in, preform part of the service and then move you back to the lobby to wait and then be placed in another room to meet with the doctor, then back to the lobby to wait. Just awful service, feels more like a factor than a customer service focused establishment.
Not to mention it takes weeks to obtain trials, staff is untrained (and seems to be a rotating door, I have yet to see the same person twice, including the doctor) and will provide you with incorrect information, they don't know how to use the technology

2 year patient of Foster Vision checking here. I've been in a few times now for exams and new glasses/contacts and I have always had a memorably awesome experience each time. I have VSP insurance and they are preferred provider, so I always recommend this office to my coworkers, as well as any friends who have VSP coverage. The staff are all extremely kind and patient and I am very satisfied with my care. They go above and beyond my expectations to help me and others during my visits. They got his prescription right on and had amazing service; they were quick, helpful, and friendly. I'm saddened that my son's insurance only allows a few vision providers and this is one of them. The optometrist strongly cautioned that my son needed consistency of vision exams and to modify his prescription to help with some poor vision. After making the appointment months in advance i had a different optometrist, with no background on my son. She said she had good notes but was clearly unprepared at the start of our appointment. This was a waste of time.
