Dr. Derstine received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama in 2000. For the past 12 years he has been providing comprehensive eye care at his practice in Clackamas. His areas of interest include contact lenses, ocular disease, and educating patients about preventative measures for maintaining healthy eyes over a lifetime.

There are a number of reasons why you might prefer contact lenses to standard eyewear: a glasses-free look, hassle-free vision correction, wearing non-prescription sunwear and goggles, or the convenience of not having to worry about misplacing your glasses. If you have a high prescription or astigmatism, contact lenses may provide more enhanced vision correction than glasses.

They asked me to show up 15 minutes early to an appointment that was to start shortly after they opened. My appointment started 10 minutes late and I got to hear all about their staff meeting that was happening as I sat and waited. That was not appreciated to sit there for 20 minutes. The eye exam was well done and the service was good, but I didn’t understand why I was invited to show up early when it wasn’t necessary. The selection of glasses is great.

The doctors were great but my experience with the last at the front desk was terrible. She did not know how to calculate the charges and ended up charging me 60 dollars over what I'm supposed to pay and was kind of pushing me out the door. She also did not tell me what she was charging before she did it. I don't think I will be coming back here.

I have been seeing Dr. Scott and Dr. Daryn for the last 8 years. Every appointment I go to is better than the last. They really care about my eye health and how I feel in my glasses. Christine is amazing, Destiny and Lynn are all amazing and are what makes the experience seamless. I will continue to go here as long as Dr. Daryn and Dr. Scott are there. And their glasses selection is out of this world. 15/10 would recommend.
