Did you know that your eyes reveal insights regarding your overall health? In fact, your eyes can provide early detection for many diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, multiple sclerosis and high cholesterol. That is why Dr. Ezra performs tests that look for signs and symptoms of many different diseases, not just eye diseases, during your eye health evaluation.
Our eyewear gallery displays only independent eyewear collections from designers with a love of color, materials and shapes. Five OH three is our exclusive reclaimed wood eyewear line made by Optik PDX and only available through Optik PDX. Made with wood reclaimed from Portland, hand-crafted in Portland and proceeds donated back to Portland educational non-profits.
We advocate "green" living by doing business in a LEED Gold certified space and using reclaimed and recycled materials within our office. Our display cabinets, storage cabinets, countertops and trimwork were built using locally reclaimed Doug Fir. Our carpet is made with 100% recycled plastic and rubber.

Optik PDX offers stellar eye care. Dr. Ezra always provides clear explanations as to what is happening with my eyes (why are my eyes watering so much? Are "floaters" dangerous?), offers practical solutions to basic problems, and uses state-of-the-art imaging that helps assess the overall health of my eyes. Personable and caring, I actually look forward to my annual eye exams.
The office staff is equally adept and I love the selection of frames. I live south of Portland and have a 30 minute drive to get to Optik PDX, but I do it willingly because of the quality of care provided.

The staff here are friendly and amazing.
Prior to my appointment, the staff checked my insurance to ensure I was in network and when they realized I was not, they called and broke down the cost and expenses before mt appointment, I did not feel pressured to book an appointment with them. However, they are amazing and even when I am out of network, I continue to go here. The optometrist know what they are doing here!

This was the best experience I've ever had at an eye doctor. Dr. Bonner was knowledgable, kind, and really took the time to get to know me and figure out my eye problems. Usually at the eye doctor, the frame specialists give me anxiety and pressure expensive glasses or don't listen to my style choices. But at Optik, I felt welcome and actually wanted to buy my glasses there because they were so supportive and the glasses selection is amazing. Highly recommend!

Been coming to Optik for many years and they always go above and beyond. Fantastic docs (Dr. Ezra and Dr. Bonner) take the time to explain what they are doing and why, and how it impacts your eye and overall health. The opticians up front are so helpful as far as finding the perfect frames and lenses, very transparent about pricing, options, etc. Yissel helped me last time and was incredibly patient as I tried on pair after pair, offering really thoughtful advice and feedback. Really can't recommend Optik highly enough!

I don't write these reviews. But I've never had this kind of experience before...I have no complaints about my visit or exam. It's the bad experience trying to get my prescription filled. This is going on 3rd week of not having my glasses and yet another delay. I have finally canceled my order and asked them to return my frame. I keep hearing it's the lab faults. But it's on them. They made the choice to use them. I don't appreciate them not accepting responsibility.

I only have good things to say about Optik. I'm started going to Dr. Ezra in 2015/2016. I have terrible terrible eye sight -- it gets worse every year. I always felt so listened to and respected by Ezra and his staff. Especially as a college student, he was receptive and kind to find solutions for my bad eye sight.
In 2017, I visited another local PDX office since Optik no longer took my insurance. It was a stark difference and was pretty traumatic! Due to this, I waited several years before getting proper eye care again.
Finally in 2021 I got my act together and scheduled an appointment

Nothing but great things to say about Optik and Dr. Bonner. Dr. Bonner was kind, unhurried, and attentive. I really appreciated how she explained what she was doing throughout the exam and felt like she heard my concerns and tailored her care. She was super understanding of me being a poor student and helped work with me/my insurance to ensure I got the best vision care possible. The office staff was also lovely, working with me to find the best frames and expertly coordinating my insurances (a challenging feat to say the least). Oof. Where do I start? I'll say that this review is solely based on my interactions with the office over the phone. I haven't had the chance to be seen by Dr. Ezra because for the BVD/Binocular Dysfunction test he chooses to bill based on what even a rep from my insurance company called a "backwards" system.

This review is for my first visit to Optik.
I scheduled an appointment over the phone to get a new prescription for eyeglasses.
The man who I spoke with (I believe his name was Aaron) was super nice and helpful, but there was some confusion on the phone about my only needing the eyeglasses exam.
I explained to him that I had just received a six month supply of contacts so I didn't want to pay for a contact lens exam/fitting at this time. Just the glasses.

Dr. Ezra Atikune is wonderful. I'm so thankful that he is the person who takes care of my eyes. He's professional, knowledgeable, and it's clear that he cares about his patients. I wasn't considering Lasik until I talked to him about it and he recommended Dr. Teplick (see my review of Teplick Custom Vision) for the surgery. Dr. Atikune has my complete trust, so I moved forward and did Lasik. I couldn't be happier. I'm so glad I found Dr. Atikune.

I started getting my prescriptions filled at OptikPDX when I regularly on Mississippi Ave and have always been pleased. Since moving farther away and no longer frequenting Mississippi I went somewhere else. I made a mistake. And I returned to OptikPDX to get my prescription updated in my favorite frames.

I was visiting Portland and decided to look for new eyeglasses. This store carries high quality brands. However, their customer service stinks. They don't call back when they tell you they will. I paid for glasses on August 17th and was told that they would be shipped to me in a week to 10 days. About 10 days later I received an apologetic call that the prescription was not accurate and they were sending them to be remade. Then Optix PDX went silent. No updates and no glasses. When I called to follow up on September 7th, they responded as if the delay was normal and said I would get

Had a great experience with everyone at Optik PDX. Dr. Atikune was great during the exam and Nate was very helpful with selecting a pair of frames (lots of frames to choose from!) and keeping me up-to-date on their progress. When the frames arrived, Yissel was wonderful at helping educate me on lens care and all that other good stuff (my first pair of eyeglasses!). Highly recommend!

Reinstalled Yelp just to leave a review about the terrible experience I had today... made an appointment, came in, filled out paperwork, and the doctor starts asking questions about what contacts I wear. Being poor, I wear whichever contact lenses are cheapest and only know that I wear soft lenses instead of hard lenses. The doctor was extremely condescending and talked down to me for not knowing what specific brand I wear. When my partner asked them to speak nicer to me, they were also snapped at and treated rudely.
