I have banking for over 60 years. This is the worst experience that I have ever had dealing with a financial institution. I am trying to close my account, and they want to charge a $37.00 overdraft fee, even after I indicated on my final account CLOSE MY ACCOUNT. You never talk to anyone with authority, but get these drafted messages that say nothing relative to what you were wanting to discuss.

This place is a joke, I was preapproved for 30K credit card with a credit score of over 800 and years of long-standing perfect credit history. I was asked for all kinds of documents which I provided, only to be told they will not open my account with no real reason why. They seem to be really racially biased. I do not trust them.

I applied for a mortgage refinance in mid-March. It is now July and all I hear are crickets. I have provided everything they asked for within a day. They keep telling me to be patient. I checked online and the average refi takes 30-45 days. We are now at around 100 days with NFCU, and I have not even gotten a settlement date yet. They have taken so much time that documentation has been needed multiple times, because prior documents are no longer “current.” If I had known this would take more than double the national average, I would have refied elsewhere. This is ridiculous and costing me

This is one of the worst banking intuitions I've dealt with thus far.

They had a no fee HSA I decided to try. It was a week long ordeal just to open the account. They did not accept my US Passport Card and demanded to see a Passport Book. (I don't have a driver's license) It took three phone calls to sort out that issue. I would call and a CSR would say everything is good but their application dept said different. Very frustrating. Very poor communication.

Then I had to eSign a document to open the account which kept failing for me. CSR told me not to worry. NASA did not communicate

Terrible, garbage Credit Union.

1. Throughout five years of being with them, they had the worst online banking system and I was constantly forced to resort to email and calling their phone number, which didn't have 24/7 service. They also often directed me to dead-end phone numbers.

2. They closed my account without notice or my consent due to "inactivity" and took the remaining $5 balance as an "inactivity fee".

Dont use this bank. Terrible customer service zero care for their members
Update. Was given the run around all weekend and told I could be helped on Monday and they’re still giving me the run around. Hellen the manager is the first person who actually tried to help but we will see if she comes through.
Either way I’ll be cancelling my account when this is over. This bank’s customer service is very inconsistent

Staff is friendly. Card services support is ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE! after 10 + years of being a member i am closing my accounts and getting a credit card else where. I have been very patient. Word of advice? Nasa has changed, they are basically just like a bank but call themselves a credit union. They no longer care about their employees and members the way they once did. I hope this messege deters someone thinking of joining or getting a credit card through them. What a shame.....

By far the worst service I have ever had.
They put me in collections over 0.26 cents on my account. I never had a notification that my account had this amount due because there online service is the worst service I have ever seen. There website operates like a year 2000 website, it's confusing, and and it's just horrible. They creat a user name for you which I can't ever remember and good luck trying to get a hold of anyone over the phone. I have to wait for ever and get transferred 1000 times before someone can finally help me. The turn around time on any minor question or help

I recently had to do banking inside with my minor daughter. She has her first bank account and she had questions about how the account works and why I am on it with her. LOL. Nicole Martel and Shelly West were so helpful. They answered all my daughter's questions and they were very patient. The service was beyond anything that I can put to words! Thank you ladies for making my daughter's first banking experience such a great entry to ALMOST being an adult! I appreciate you all!!!

Customer service is poor once they get your money. They approve your application and then start calling you to provide more and more information and I.D.! They do not honor privacy (customer service called my Beneficiery without my knowledge) and turn you over to their security team just to cause you problems. Stay away. I will!

Please do yourself a HUGE favor and avoid doing business with this financial institution. Just look at the other reviews here! As of this writing, the average review is approximately 2 stars. 2 stars?! My 5-year-old could provide at least 3-star customer service -- just by being friendly and helpful, neither of which applies to the NFCU reps.
I've had horrible customer service on multiple occasions and non-competitive rates on savings and on loans. As soon as I'm able, I will close my account here. Save yourself the same heartburn.

They have gone from bad to worse. Regarding online banking after around 11pm, you can login but can't view or fully access you account or make any transfers. I started complaining about this 6 months ago but its still broke. Actually went into the banks and complained about the issue. They said someone would contact me. That was 2 months ago. No one called and they had no intention to call. I will be leaving this outfit as soon as I have time to deal with it.

Horrible faulty remote deposit system and Marissa Gabriento who is supposed to be a manager is a nightmare to deal with, and has no idea what she is doing. I've been a client for 10 years, but it's taken a sharp turn to the worst. Looking for a new better bank.

Switched to NASA FCU after being a PNC customer for a lifetime. My husband and are thrilled to say the least. We couldn't be happier with the service, the rate we got on our recent auto loan and being paid 2 days earlier isn't a bad deal either! Why we didn't come here sooner I'm not sure. You can use any credit union ATM surcharge free, most 7-11 ATMs are also free. They pay you to use your debit card as a credit purchase also. Rates for checking and savings accounts are also higher than your normal bank. In the branch, they have coin counting machines that are surcharge free. My oldest daughter

I've been a member for over 20 years and each year their service gets worse. Do yourself a favor and don't bank with these people! First of all, they ignore the forms you are required to fax in for the credit debit origination, then they charge you $10 fee because if their mistake. Then after that they applied my mortgage payment they charged me $10 for, and apply it to my credit card giving me a credit on my Visa card in the amount of my mortgage. Duh! Not sure what kind a brainiac couldn't figure out they were applying the payment to a visa payment instead of a mortgage payment

This is a fee and money hungry bank that is masquerading as a helpful credit union. You will not have a good experience with this scam of an operation.

First, the credit union has frequent IT problems which spontaneously causes payment (ACHs, EFTs, checks and debits) to overdraft and/or be returned. This can be a really terrible nightmare if you're paying rent or a mortgage.

I had the privilege of being with NASA after opening my account at the Wallops flight facility. It was so-so at first; nothing spectacular. Fast forward a year and a half later, and I was ready to close the account

I opened a savings account here over a year ago. The purpose of opening the account was so that I would have the opportunity at a later date to open more useful accounts with NASA FCU if I wanted, as I was leaving my job at NASA and thus wouldn't be eligble to open a new account.

I put $5 in the account and I received a notice that they closed my account due to inactivity which apparently is a $5 fee. Anyway, when I opened the account they had so many fees listed, it was impossible to remember them all.

They have fees for everything and they cannot compete with any of the major banks, or
