Went there for the first time with friends and have to say it was a refreshing experience. The atmosphere was nice, very quaint and laid back not overly fancy which was nice. Keep in mind cornville is a small town so you can't compare to a fancy place in California or New york ect. However I would go there again in a heartbeat. The staff was great and our waitress went above and beyond and made me a special Chistmas martini herself( peppermint mocha) and did a excellent job. We had several appetizers the escargot, shrimp bruschetta, brat bites (made with small potatoe pancakes and a slice of veal

Working for German company for 30 years before retiring, and many trips to Germany I became addicted to the food. My particular favorite is Jager Schnitzel, so if I'm in German restaurant it's always my first choice. Sometimes it's not a good one. This is the one restaurant, although it's not on the menu, it's always a good choice. Many years ago retired Chef Kramer was always happy to go "off the menu" for my request. The legacy of Chef Kramer is still evident in the kitchen, as my Jager Schnitzel was equal, if not better, than I have been served in the best

We absolutely think this is the best restaurant in the Verde Valley. We are from CA and I was especially missing my family and our traditional Thanksgiving meals this year so we decided to go to Manzanita. My father was German and always made the best stuffing and we have always carried on the tradition from the way he made it. Theirs was so close to what I was used to it made me feel so much better about not being able to go home this year. Thank you Susan so much and we will be back again very soon.
We have always had great meals here but today was exceptional.

My husband and I have celebrated every wedding anniversary at Manzanita's since we moved to Cornville. This year we invited 5 friends to join us as our guests. The food was superb, the service outstanding, the atmosphere as relaxing and impressive as ever. Everyone ordered something different, all delicious. Thank you Manzanita's for celebrating another wedding anniversary with us in such a special way.

My family and I went to this restaurant for dinner last night and I'm SO glad that we did! The restaurant was a little outside of Sedona but worth the drive. We tried only German food on the menu. Everything was absolutely fantastic! The food was all packed with flavor. I wish I lived near here to be able to eat the Schweinshaxe again! If I had to order only one item off the menu, it was be the Schweinshaxe. But like I said, every single item we tried was absolutely fantastic. Also, the owners made sure to come say hi. It was really nice to be able to meet them!

We had the best dinner during our anniversary trip to AZ. The food and service was impecable. Don't let the location fool you! This restaurant is a diamond in the rough! We had theEscargots and Brat Bites as an appetizer. I had the Schweinshaxe and my husband had the Filet Medallions. Everything was excellent! This is a must try!

You wouldnt expect to find fine dining in tiny rural hamlet, next to a great dive bar and RV park, but Manzy wont dissappoint. Comfy interior. Cute small outside dog friendly patio too.

Give me a break "fine dining" in someone's dream. Only 4 German dishs on the menu and not a German beer to found yet billed as German. Way under staffed for the business flow. Booths need fixed and inside in general need updated. Food was tasty but nothig to return for.

In Sedona, you can find gourmet restaurants as far as you can toss a stick. However, it's usually a cluster of the same type of food:
- Latin inspired/ typically Mexican,
- Italian, like pasta or pizza,
- Steakhouse
- Seafood
- or "upscale American" cuisine.

I ventured out of the Sedona bubble to find something different and discovered Manzanita Restaurant in Cornville, about 15 minutes away from Sedona.

It once was owned by a German chef, and owners Randy and Sue kept the German food on the menu. They also added the traditional steak, seafood, pasta to the menu, but I read

We could not have been happier with the service we received and the food that we ordered!

Two weeks prior to our wedding date, we were hamstrung with options and contacted 8 restaurants throughout the Flagstaff, Sedona, and Cottonwood areas for our 24 guest Grooms dinner. Susanne and her staff were extraordinarily accommodating and were able to secure the staff for all of us.

Our food all came out at the same time, all of our orders were correct, and our waters, lemonades and teas were never empty.

The food was delicious! The Elk steak, schnitzel, shrimp and seafood dishes, chicken dishes

Totally old school dining experience in rural setting. Our first visit after 3 hours of the blues next door. Most of the patrons are regulars here. Wife and I started with escargots which were great and the bread to sop up the juices was yummy! She loved her pumpkin soup and my salad was fine. She had trout almondine whicj=h was recommended by friends and I enjoyed perfectly done filet wrapped in bacon. Roxanne was our server and she was the best! Our only regret is the hour to get here.

The service and quality of the food was amazing. The food was so fresh and tasty and there was no long wait. Cocktails were poured, then bread was served, then a fresh salad and finally the main meal. Also need to mention that the salad dressings are freshly made in house. No sooner were we finished, then the friendly server came out with a wonderful tray of assorted desserts to choose from. This is definitely a place we will come back to again.

This place is fantastic ! I ordered the escargot, which I am really picky about, and it was wonderful. Was nit able to eat salad. Too full. Then I had the cornmeal crusted walleye which was fantastic also. Could only eat half. Took other half home. For my side I ordered hot German potato salad which was really good too. I took half potatoe salad home and was even better next day. The mud pie I got to go and later that night I enjoyed every bite. I could not have had a better meal. Everything was wonderful. Service too notch.

Had Bison tenderloin and wife had Schweinehaxen. All I can say is food was fantastic, service was good, and atmosphere was very very good. They accommodated a last minute reservation when we stayed in Sedona and would match this restaurant against anything in town we experienced. We liked it so much we are currently planning to go back tomorrow night rather than deal with the crowds in town. Highly recommend.

Our 2nd time here, it is delicious and they have unique dishes to try. You will see frog legs and the wild game stroganoff here. The wild game was venison, bison & kangaroo, which was tender and wonderful.

So for a small old school restaurant in a small town, this place isn't bad at all. I mean, you can't expect it to compete on equal footing with the restaurants in NYC or Charleston, but surely you don't find your way to this area for that purpose. If you're like me, being around this area for tourism purposes, then this restaurant will certainly suffice. I actually enjoyed their rabbit special. And the pumpkin soup was nice, it was slightly on the sweeter side, which I actually liked. Servers were great. That have indoor dining and also a small outdoor patio.
Side note, you should ask them why

The low reviews for Manzanita seem to be caused by the hysteria of wearing masks. Priceless! If you are a frightened sheep buying into the Fauci narrative, you might want to choose another restaurant, because the owners and staff are not into wearing masks.

But is you want incredible food, with a tremendous menu variety, and great value for the quality of food, the dine here for certain!

My party of four drove up to Cornville and dined here last evening, and food, and the service was simply awesome! There is a reason that Manzanita has been ranked as one of the Top 10 restaurants in Arizona

I will start this review with my great disappointment that this business does not care about the pandemic and safety of their customers.
We had the option to leave when we saw no masks and no distancing, however decided to stay and have dinner. The food was good, however it is expensive for the location. Also , the dining room severely needs updating. The booth seats are torn and the general feeling is shabby.
Most likely will not return.

Great restaurant with delicious food and excellent service.

Cocktail drink was delish - not as much etoH but delish. Sangria was like a light and with some carbonation. Couldn't taste the wine. Manzanita special flavorful and refreshing - you can taste a bit of the rum.

Shrimp bruschetta: 3 stars. Cheesy shrimp on top of the bread. I didn't care for it as much. It needed a little bit of acidity for me and a squeeze of lemon made all the different. If you like cheesy things this is the appetizer for you. It was a special so not on the menu.

Clam chowder: 4 stars. Surprisingly delicious

Very disappointed! We are locals and used to frequent monthly. Not anymore.
We ordered their special, Sea Bass, tonight. Got barramundi, skin on over pasta. Fine dining it was not!
Staff, wait and bus boy no masks! Patrons had masks. Our food was delivered right after a party of 11 was seated across from our booth (no masks, COVID-19 pandemic) less than 4 feet from us and another party of 4. This party was 3-40 years old, no social distancing. They were obviously not locals.
We left our meals and paid over $100, NO TIP.
THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS RESTAURANTS ARE CLOSING IN THE SEDONA/VERDE VALLEY

I went to this restaurant after a long day in hopes for a good meal but I didn't want to spend the night there. The food was good but dang, I didn't think I was ever going to get out of there. They weren't very busy, it was just me and what I ordered was a simple fish dish and it took over 40 min to get my meal. And then when I was finished, I waited and waited and waited for someone to come over and check on me. I finally had to ask for my check and even that took a while. I was there over 2 hrs for a quick meal. I would have given them another star if not for the slow everything

This is a quaint beautiful little German Restaurant. Tucked away in Cornville but definitely a place to have a leisurely lunch or dinner. Service is great and the dessert selection is out of this world. A must for people who enjoy good food and service.

We came to Manzanita because the Italian place up the road was closed. It was great luck for us because we had a great experience. The staff was great but the winner was the great food. How can a Arizona place have the best clam chowder?
My wife even had a taste. I had the german dish ( sauerbraten) and from Cincinnati( big german town)it was great. Wife had blacken steak and had to be one of top steaks she has eaten. No room for desert but we had later that night. We were soooo impressed that we are going to Christmas dinner 2018. If you are in the area and do not visit you are crazy. Added Christmas
