The funeral firm was first established in Wernersville in 1852 by George Wolfensberger, a local cabinet maker. His son, Richard A. Wolfensberger and son-in-law, William C. Feather continued the business operating as Wolfensberger and Feather. C. Norman Lamm, William Feather's foster son, grew up around the business and established the Lamm Funeral Home in 1918 following the death of William Feather.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.

Staff members of Lamm & Witman Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. She and her family have been living in PA since 1998.
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.

Maria, Kelly and Danielle provided much needed comfort and compassion towards my family both before and after my mother’s passing.Maria’s patience and professional guidance while making some very difficult decisions concerning my mother’s unique wishes was outstanding. The folks at Lamm & Whitman did everything possible to make Mom’s service as dignified and orderly as possible. These events are extremely stressful and sorrowful for the family. Danielle handled my mother’s memorial service and cremation after her loss to her battle with cancer. We wanted to make sure her love of friends, family, and special memories were central, as well as her love of bright, happy colors. They honored her through a perfect obituary, memorial card, and by displaying her art. Danielle was available throughout the process and was caring and compassionate. I spoke with a few funeral parlors, but Maria gave me the most information from the beginning and was able to work with us. Everyone I have encountered has been professional, appropriately compassionate, and personable. They did a great job talking us through everything and carrying through with the services. Maria at Lamm & Whitman is wonderful. She is compassionate and thoughtful and kind and very good at what she does. When our dad died, my brother and I had no idea what to do. Maria walked us through all the steps. She compassionately and knowledgeably answered all of our questions -- even those awkward death questions you are sort of embarrassed to ask. She helped us arrange a memorial that managed to be personal and professional at the same time - plus, she understood our COVID concerns for our guests and helped us prepare a workable and effective plan.
