Leo Hamel Fine Jewelers is San Diego's largest full service jewelry store, offering the most extensive selection of vintage, new, and designer jewelry, plus new and pre-owned watches, and in-house repair. I started my company in 1980 and built it by offering great prices on fine vintage jewelry, mint-condition pre-owned watches, loose diamonds, and engagement rings, because that was what my customers wanted.
Leo's career in jewelry began as a salesperson at the jewelry counter in the Walker Scott department store. Leo was fired several times for bending the rules to give his customers a better shopping experience but was always re-hired because he was their top salesman. His boss at the time "suggested" that he start his own business.

Leo Hamel has been our Jeweler since moving to San Diego. They have a great balance of new and vintage pieces. The staff is excellent and you always leave feeling like you got the best deal in town. We were hoping to turn in some old jewelry for cash, we weren't expecting much as it was broken, damaged and and just plain 'don't know what it is'. Annalisa took a great deal of time going through our box, testing and examining pieces we thought were costume jewelry. One piece in particular seemed to give her trouble identifying the metal. I would have been happy with a few hundred for the entire lot. Her persistence and exam on that one piece brought us in MUCH, MUCH more than we ever dreamed.
