Scleral Lenses are custom designed hard contact lenses which may provide optimal vision for patients with irregular corneas due to keratoconus, ocular trauma, post-surgical complications, pellucid marginal degeneration, or any number of causes of irregular astigmatism. Sceral lenses may also be the best option for patients suffering from sever dry eye (Keratitis Sicca) who have tried other treatment options without sufficient relief.

I legit can't give more positive stars. They stayed past closing for me, pulled out glasses for me, let me face time my family about the glasses for 10 minutes, gave me the space I needed, answered all my questions, and were super kind and patient. I'm a really inquisitive indecisive person and they allowed me to be myself and didn't make me feel bad about being crazy!!

Last week I picked up my annual supply of contacts and the employee mislabeled ALL my contacts. I trusted her and assumed the employee labeled the contact boxes correctly. I was wrong. When I called them today the man who answered the phone told me which contacts are for the left eye and which ones are for right eye. The information he told me did not match how the employee labeled the boxes. I told him that she mislabeled the boxes and he didn't apologize at all. I'm very disappointed how they handled the situation.

I'm a long time patient (10+ years) & have honestly never seen a more innovative, colorful or stylish array of frames anywhere else. The office staff is incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. The eye docs are always top notch, as is the diagnostic equipment. You will not be disappointed if you stop by their lovely Piedmont Ave location. I highly recommend!!!

Really nice experience. Felt taken care of and safe during COVID. The staff was lovely and attentive and the optometrist really explained what was going on with my eyes and I’m not sure I’ve had that experience before. They helped me find frames in my price range graciously and knocked a bunch off my eye exam from their listed prices.

This is the second pair of lenses I have purchased from Iris Eye Center. I am very pleased with the lenses they provided. ( I only got lenses from them and used an eyeglass frame that I already had.) Their lenses are very high quality, reasonable price, and excellent customer service. Dealing with the owner, Surinder, and with Kevin and the others there has been a pleasure. I was not happy with the eye glass prescriptions I had been getting from my health provider so I decided to meet with the eye doctor at Iris Eye Center. The lady I worked with, Dr. Schultz, gave me a much more thorough and better

If I could give this shop zero stars, I would. I would not recommend to buy your glasses frames and lenses here.
I went to this shop for the first time, after moving to Oakland. I purchased a beautiful pair of Danish frames, and had Iris Eye Center put in the lenses. When I went to pick up the frames, the frames had been significantly stretched, and were no longer wearable or fixable.
One of the employees was also upset at what had happened to my frames, and offered to help me find another pair, and said he would not charge me. He encouraged me toward a Spectacle Eyeworks collection, which

The staff at Iris Eye Center is so kind and made my whole visit feel personalized! They never made me feel rushed, gave me opinions on glasses and helped me pick them out, and spent adequate time with me talking through everything and doing a thorough exam. Highly recommend going here for your care. Prices were a bit expensive but honestly worth it for the quality of service.

Personalized and professional. I have not purchased glasses in many years. The last pair I had were ok. After speaking to Surinder and his team, I learned why I had a hard time while wearing them.
I now have some very cool glasses that I feel good wearing and can see well with. I highly recommend them and their staff!
Please note - it is Oakland, and parking can be tough. Good news is there are so many cute shops and places to see, so when you do go, spend some time walking around!

I highly recommend Iris Eye Center on Piedmont Avenue. Not only do they have an amazing assortment of fashionable frames to choose from, but the staff are absolutely wonderful as well! They really take the time to help you find the frames that are just right for you, and are generally just very friendly, helpful and kind. I love Iris Eye Center!

I found them very very commercial. I did not like the sales push. Also, when I told them I would pay out of pocket they charged me $464 for contact lens and regular eye exam. When I told them on the phone they told me another rate, they quickly (and rather randomly) reduced it to $350. It is bizarre that they charge a cash paying patient more than what they charge folks who use their insurance.

I had a terrible experience here. I bought a pair of regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses. The doctor persuaded me to get progressive lenses and claimed that if I didn't like them she would "cheerfully refund my money." When I picked up the glasses, they had screwed up the sunglasses, so i just took the regular ones. After a week, i didn't really like the progressive lenses, so I called to tell them that I didn't want the sunglasses to be progressive. They called me back to try to talk me into them, insisting that I speak with two people.

I had to contact my insurance company (VSP) on several occasions to make sure things were done properly. Apparently, they did not understand the process for people who need "Medically Necessary" contact lenses. Also, if you require a more comprehensive eye exam I wouldn't suggest going here because they do not have advanced exam equipment like other offices I have visited. However, I may return just for glasses because they do have a unique selection of frames.

I have lived in the neighborhood for 22 years. I have been coming to Iris for about 20 of those years. Balvinder and Surinder are the best when matching frames to your face plus are the nicest people. I can not go in there just to look and say Hi. There is always a frame that I end up buying.

The staff and doctors are a friendly and professional team. After a thorough exam I chose my frames and a week later had a new pair of glasses. My first pair of bifocals, I had trouble adjusting to wearing them, and returned to the store. The doctor made a couple of simple changes to the frame and they fit better. Improved my vision and no extra charge! I gladly recommend Iris Optometric.

Surprised to see that they only have 3 1/2 stars. My boyfriend works for the state of California. After dropping by in person to a few places we couldn't find the right price and pair of glasses that were within his plan.
Surender and female assistant whom I have forgot her name were so helpful. We took a seat and she told us to make our selfs feel at home. Then Surender brought us many pairs of glasses that would be covered by his plan. They also offered their welcomed option while maintaining a professional yet homie feel.

I'm a random stranger, called in for a adjustment since I bought my glasses online, I was upfront with the lady I spoke with and she told me to come on in! I didn't even buy anything. This was great service and proved they are truly in the business of seeing clients comfortable in glasses!!
