If you want your tenant rights violated Torrington Properties is the company to rent from! After my landlord sold my building in the middle of my lease I had the misfortune of living under this management company for about 2 months and it was one of the worst rental experiences of my life. I went over a week and a half without a working light in my bathroom while management insisted that they had fixed it. While doing renovations upstairs they negligently burst a pipe, causing a leak of rusty water to damage all my clothes in my closet. After agreeing to pay for my dry cleaning, management took

NEVER RENT HERE! Absolute worst apartment renting experience of my life. This company is the definition of "Negligent". They would never respond to phone calls or emails, even if you noted it as an emergency. It took them 8 months to fix my mailbox, so it was without a lock on it for that time. There was a water leak in my window, they refused to send any maintenance workers to fix it, then one day showed up unexpectedly with no notice, they still never fixed it. The washing machines are from the stone age, yet they charge $2.00 for a wash and another $2.00 to dry! The machines were constantly

Reached out to my property manager by phone and email 5 times since living in one of their apartments and have not gotten one response. They have walked into my apartment without notice and told me they were coming by at a certain time and not shown up. Disrespectful and very non responsive.

My fiancé and I live(d) in an apartment in Brookline managed by Torrington Properties for 3 years. Each year, the service and responsiveness has gotten worse and worse; we just got word this week we have a new property manager - 3rd one in our time here.
Other issues we've had with our unit/Torrington:
- neither maintenance or the property managers take service requests seriously - especially when they don't know how to address the issue. Every year we have to put 3+ service orders in to get the heat working in the winter when in reality they should just replace the ancient radiator

This is the absolute worst company I have ever worked for. You get better responses from pyramid schemes on Instagram. Ryan was unresponsive and unhelpful. We didn’t get our mailbox key until 2 months into our lease. The maintenance man had no regard for time and scheduling and showed up whenever he pleased. He spent two days seemingly just stomping excessively loud and banging on every wall he could find. There are Co2 alarms that were going off for weeks because they wouldn’t come fix them, furniture was gross and mostly broken. Plus laundry is the biggest scam in history. 2.50 per load is

My fiancee and I have reached out to the property manager and the company in general over 10 times via email and phone calls, and we have gotten no responses. We also tried reaching out to the property manager on the day of move in and got ONE response and then that was it. No response to any other questions. We emailed in the beginning of October and have sent follow up emails and have received nothing. We have called multiple times and no one picks up and there's no way to leave a voicemail. This company is SO unprofessional and not responsive in the slightest. Just frustrating given the amount

When confronted with issues with the building, they pass it off and are unwilling to take ownership. Torrington Properties has failed at trash management for my building. It's incredibly unprofessional and affects the entire neighborhood. It's the attitude and lack of empathy that makes Torrington so difficult to work with.

I have rented with Torrington Properties in South Boston for a year now and have had a wonderful experience! I just renewed for another year. Ryan is the property manager and is very helpful in times of need. Whenever I have a problem there is a quick solution. The building that I live in is older so there are problems sometimes with heat in the winter, but whenever I needed help fixing it, there was always someone there to help quickly. When I first moved in, the apartment was very clean and they did a nice job with painting the walls and fixing anything that was broken from the previous tenant

Where do I begin? Torrington Properties is one of the least professional, poorly managed companies I have ever dealt with. If you have the misfortune of working with Ryan, do not expect anything. He does not answer emails, does not return calls, and makes false promises he has no intention of following through on. At different times, our property was without heat (middle of winter), a leaky ceiling in the kitchen, power out on the hottest day of the year. All in all, 10/10 would recommend avoiding Torrington and avoiding Ryan all together.

Their employees text while driving. Driver of a Torrington van felt it was more important to be on his phone at the intersection of Crescent St and Moody St, Waltham than it was to be paying attention to the flow of traffic. Get off your phone before you kill someone, with your employer’s name on the vehicle.

Although being a perpetual renter has left me feeling ignored over the years, I can say that I've been extremely satisfied with Torrington's property management.
I've lived in a couple of their properties and from the looks of the inventory on their website I would be happy living at any of their locations. When I've had to relocate around the area, it was nice to avoid realtor fees by sticking with Torrington. Jackie and Dana in the office have been super duper accommodating in this respect.
Props to you Torrington!

Torrington recently purchased and manage my building. They bought the building from a slumlord and have decided to keep up with tradition. They haven't cleaned the hallway in weeks. There is dust piling up at my front and back doors. The stairs and all floors need to be swept, mopped and buffed. Also, there are tenants who smoke in the building due to there being no management onsight or enforcement of the rules. They dropped a packet at everyone's door listing all the rules, but most of the items don't apply to this property i.e. heat and hot water are not separate in my building

Do not rent from these awful people. Not only will they never respond to maintenance requests (never fixed leaks) they cut services such as snow and trash removal. If you do make the mistake of moving in, they will raise your rent. They tried to raise mine 15% and I moved out. Do you self a favor and rent elsewhere.

Tracy Cheney, the Durham Strafford Avenue apartment property management, has been doing a really amazing job. She went out of her way numerous times to be accessible to my son and his roommates during their rental period at Strafford. Whether it was broken door keys, parking issues, appliance issues or just answering parents questions, she was totally available and responsive at the drop of a hat! Always has been there to help out our boys, and it was very much appreciated by us. She is overseeing some much needed renovations to the buildings and I'm just sorry that we were unable to secure
