My daughter and I felt welcomed by the friendly staff as soon as we arrived. We were offered fig newtons, granola bars and various other snacks to take to our room along with 2 (real) coffee cups and coffee. We put everything in a red tray to carry to our room. It was a nice little personal gesture. The view from the room was spectacular and the room was quiet, very clean and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

Good view and good location, beds are more comfortable than I was expecting. Our room had a TV with multiple hdmi ports and they have wifi. Bit of an older place so don't expect anything high class or whatever. Has the standard room service/ do not disturb sign you can hang and our room was cleaned up while we were out.

Very nice and well taken care of! We booked a last minute room and wish we had booked additional nights. Affordable option in an expensive lodging area. Beautiful view of the water and a great location. Super clean, newer carpet, comfortable beds and pillows, and friendly office attendant.
The only thing that was weird was the old bottle of open/used shampoo.
Would definitely stay again!

Nice spacious room, old key entry into the room. Great view of little traverse bay. Could do a better job cleaning, did find some surface mold on the bathroom tile that was easily wiped up, also saw a few bugs that were promptly smooshed. This could be a hell of a nice motel with a little more effort. I'd stay again.

I left my recently purchased Apple brand iPad Lightning to USB cable with attached USB power adapter plugged into the wall at this hotel. These items are quite expensive to replace, I am finding out! I knew exactly which outlet they were plugged into. I immediately emailed the hotel when we got home, and I got an email back this morning saying it was not in the room. My daughter left reading glasses in her room at the same hotel a year ago and was told they were not there. This seems to be a pattern at this hotel. It appears that someone working there is not honest. It's a shame, because

If you want a pleasant accommodation experience, do NOT stop here! But, if you like the constant hum of traffic traveling 50 mph along a 4-lane highway to lull you to sleep, then this is your place. I had to resort to an OTC sleeping tablet when I found myself still struggling to fall asleep by midnight.
The ambiance and cleanliness is below par. I wouldn't expect to find dust on the nightstands if they had proper maid service. Nor would I expect to find an old bar of soap...yes, unused, but so old it had unusual rust color spots on it. Yuck! Glad I brought my own soap. Oh, and don

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!!!! Booked 2 rooms months ago by calling hotel directly. Told rooms were confirmed. Called back a couple weeks later just to reconfirm that rooms were booked. Again, told by desk the rooms were confirmed. Well, just got as call that the hotel is cancelling our reservation due to overbooking. Look at other reviews and you will see this is a common issue. They blamed an employee who was managing reservations while they were away. The owner Vern did not once offer to assist in finding another hotel or provide any real info as to why we were being cancelled even

I stayed at the Bay Inn of Petoskey in July. I was in town for a family emergency at the nearby hospital. I booked on Travelocity the night before my trip for a decent rate. Upon arriving, they had no record of the reservation - and upon rechecking my Travelocity account, it looks like the reservation didn't didn't get sent (even though I had an email that said it did).

We paid about $450 for two nights of a lovely view. The staff are very nice. The motel is very old and needs maintenance. The blankets and comforters were put back on the beds as we watched. The furniture is flea market junque. The carpet was rippled. The door lock didn't work well. The wifi only works outside. The free breakfast is a granola bar and coffee in your room but the office where you get the coffee packs and granola bars doesn't open til 9 am. The room wasn't very clean and we were told the housekeeper was in the hospital. The coffee pot, microwave, and refrigerator are

I booked the Bay Inn of Petoskey for my wedding. 5 months before the wedding I talked to Shirley, one of the owners, who assured me 2 nights and all 15 rooms plus the cottage would be held for guests who indicated they were with our wedding. They also said they were giving us a discount on the guarantee we would book all rooms that weekend. I was never asked to put down a credit card to hold the inn.
