Borders EyeCare Specialists was established in 2019 by Dr. Britt Borders & Dr. Sara Borders. Our clinic was established to provide cutting edge, quality, health and vision care to our hometown and the surrounding community. Dr. Britt Borders & Dr. Sara Borders completed their Doctoral of Optometry degree's at The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, and choose to returned and establish their clinic in their hometown.
Dr. Britt Borders was born and raised in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He is excited to return home to provide quality vision/healthcare to his hometown community. He is an Elizabethtown Independent High School graduate, received two Associate Degrees from ECTC and received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Campbellsville University.
A routine eye examination will evaluate a patient's ocular health and determine the patients need for visual correction. As a result of a routine eye exam, if needed, patient will be provided with a prescription for eye glasses. Each patient will then have the opportunity to request a contact lens exam in which a contact lens prescription will be written.
A comprehensive eye exam is important for everyone annually regardless of visual complaints. The American Optometric Association recommends yearly eye examinations. It is important that an eye care professional checks not only for the need of glasses or contact lens prescriptions but the overall health of the ocular system.
Contact lenses come in all shapes, sizes and materials. This allows you doctor the ability to use contact lenses specific for your needs, not only to treat the patients refractive error but also various ocular conditions. Through the proper use of contact lenses your doctor can provide vision improvements not seen with the standard soft contact lenses.

Best optometrist aka eye doc you will find. Dr. Brett Borders tags the time to explain everything in normal terms. He doesn't try to sell you all the latest gimmicks. He truly cares about his patients. This is a family run location. The most friendly staff. Dr. Sara Borders is so patient in teaching how to put in/take out contacts. Also, you're not left waiting forever to be seen as they value your time!

On January 25, 2021, I had an eye exam and also ordered a pair of glasses. It took a few weeks to get them, so after wearing them for a week and being completely nauseated, I went back to their office on March 8, 2021 and returned the glasses. Britt indicated the measurements were wrong and would send them out to be replaced.
I did not receive my glasses again until May 5, 2021. Yes, 2 month's later! Britt said the glasses were sent to the wrong place and then he said they were lost. The only reason I knew about these delays was because I kept calling the office because no one bothered calling

The Borders team is beyond amazing. They truly went above and beyond for us from the scheduling of our two boys, the patience with little ones first appoints, to the paperwork for school. I can not say enough wonderful things about this family and the care they provide to their patients. Our family will certainly be patients for a long time. We were in the middle of a move and I had to get my son seen for a new pair of glasses. He had fed his only pair to our German Shepherd puppy, and his eyes were beginning to turn out again. I called all over Louisville, Lexington, and E-Town and wasn’t able to find anyone open to take him at the time we needed it except for Borders Eye Care! Not only was it a huge relief to know they could see him so soon, it was a relief to know he was in such good hands when we got there!
The registration staff were so helpful in aiding me to figure out his insurance coverage, and I have never met such personable

Borders Eye Care took exceptional care of my daughter! She was experiencing migraine headaches for an extended period of time during the Corona Virus shut down. I messaged BEC and asked if there was anything they could do to help, even though they weren’t open. They safely followed precautions so they could evaluate her condition. My daughter was very nervous but they were outstanding at putting her at ease and thoroughly explaining her eyes and working out a plan for correction! These people care and do everything in their power to help!

A fantastic Eye care Provider! I typically hate having my eyes checked but Dr.Boarder made me feel comfortable and relaxed. They are very professional and knowledgeable about my vision needs. Finding glasses for myself is a hassle and a half as my moon-like head hardly fits any glasses. At Borders, they worked with me patiently and took the time to measure my dome and find the perfect glasses company that catered to people afflicted with my condition. They then ordered the glasses and had it to me within a week. They were a perfect fit and made my vision clear again. Their service is superb and friendly and the office is immaculate and has a great selection of glasses. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an optometrist.

I had a great experience. The insurance process was easy, there was no waiting, and they even helped me pick out glasses since I was by myself. I definitely recommend you to get your next eye exam at Borders EyeCare! They also recommended a new type of contacts and ordered a trial pair which I absolutely love!

The couple that owns Borders Eye Care Specialists are wonderful!! They truly care about their clients and go the extra mile to help. Britt Borders worked with me for 3 weeks to find contacts that would work with my dry eye. I’ve never been able to wear contacts before. And I was able to walk down the aisle at my daughter’s wedding without glasses!!!! Thank you Britt and Sara!!
