I wish I didn't ignore the negative reviews and low star ratings.... this place is the WORST ... things to expect
1. Rude office staff
2. Won't get a deposit back
3. Will actually charge you for moving out
4. Heartless corporate responses
5. raising the rent $200 without notice .....
6 .the smell and overall low quality and standards found here
I would not recommend this even as a joke to anyone I care about

We lived at Rising Glen from Summer 2020 to Fall 2021 and the experience could have been better. If you take nothing else from this, be sure to take pictures of everything while doing your move in inspection. I have listed some pros and cons below:

Cons:
Visitor Parking:
Visitor parking here is terrible. There are only about 14-16 visitor parking spots for the entire complex. If you would like a visitor to come over, they need to have a pass, otherwise they are at risk of being towed. If you manage to somehow figure out how to get a visitor pass printed out from the confusing program, chances

Beautiful and quiet place to live. I’ve been here almost 2 years, everyone from the the office staff to the maintenance staff have been extremely helpful, responsive and kind. The location is great, only 10 min drive to the village and beach, plus walking distance to grocery stores. I highly recommend this complex.

RUN! DO NOT EVER APPLY HERE! THEY ARE THEIVES AND WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! Renting in this area right now is cut throat and I was trying to find somewhere to live from out of town. I had the opportunity to apply for an apartment on this property and was so excited. I filled out all the paperwork, paid the $50 credit check for 2 people, $12.38 "convenience fee" and $500 holding deposit. They took 7 days to get back to me regarding whether or not I was approved. Since they were taking so long to process my application, I continued on my search and ended up finding another BETTER place that

Horrible gym with old equipment
All these rules in parking and trash yet they don't do there part in maintaining updated appliances and fixing issues
Ladies at the office are okay I mean they don't really care but they have their days when they are "nice"
Loud neighbors but it could be the thin walls
Look at low reviews on Google and here they are definitely earned
Maintenance guy is fast and is the only good part about apartment

Lived here for almost two years, they will illegally pocket your entire security deposit when you move out regardless of cleaning, as many other reviews have noted (and even bill extra after move out in our case). They have ignored our requests to justify the charges, and not provided invoices for most of their supposed turnover contactor bills. The office is conveniently closed. They recently changed guest parking policy to be so draconian that almost nobody can use the guest spaces anymore. No street parking after midnight either. This is a place to rent if you're new in town and house shopping

One star because of the good location. Very noisy place, our town house was right on Carlsbad village drive, sometimes i thought that a car will be coming inside any moment now...equipment in gym are outdated and a few of them out of order for about a couple of years. There's a nice tv in the gym, never worked along with the air conditioning. Threatening letter was posted from time to time at the gym, telling us basically not to complain or else they're going to close the gym down. The pool is unimpressive, not heated and crowded during the summer with visitors. Security is not existing, however

Lived at Rising Glen for 8 months, had to relocate prior to end of term for my job. Sent all the relevant paperwork for early lease termination, agreed to the 2 month penalty (standard). Gave back the keys and today they're refusing the lease break and want to run the lease to its term since they know I've already left the area (moved to Boston).
When i called to get explanations, they refused to give more background and instead started threatening me with lawyers. Steer clear of this place, not only is it old, but the office staff is the least cooperative I've ever encountered.

The management group has hired a less than reputable company to come in and tow cars for now reason. My boyfriend was parked for less than 3 hours in guest parking and was nearly towed. The company they hired to tow is not even using legitimate tow equipment and seems to be a group that is receiving a kick back for the number of tows per night. Clearly the guest policy only applies to minutes.... as my bf’s window sticker indicates he was here 25 min.

I lived in Rising Glen for only a year, but I've had wayyyy better apartment experiences. To make it simple, here's a list of the pros and cons:

Pros:
Location is great. Less than 5 minutes away from the beach, Carlsbad village, the new Carlsbad mall, brand new movie theatre, Sprouts, CVS, Target, Walmart, and a million stores, restaurants and bars. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated in our unit, which was really nice, and Lucinda (who works in the office is really sweet).

Cons: If you want any privacy, you're not gonna get it here. Every single unit looks into another person

We lived at Rising Glen from 2016-2017, moved temporarily out of state but loved the complex so much we moved back here when we returned to San Diego! We have a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom
, washer and dryer AND a backyard. You really couldn't beat the price for what you're getting and the location itself. The staff are super friendly and amenities are great. We used the pool and grills all summer. Would recommend this place for sure!

We rented here from October 2017 through January 2019, a little over a year. This has got to be my worst experience everrrr at an apartment complex. First of all the rent is a bit higher than everything else around, however, that was expected because of location and we were fine with it. But for the rent we paid we never expected to have an ongoing mice infestation for a little over four months; with no response from management. In a span of two weeks I caught 15 mice but it was an ongoing problem they never fixed. On move out date we found plenty of fresh mice droppings. I wouldn't doubt

Rising Glen, Rising Prices, Declining Quality
Save yourself the time, money and headache by avoiding this corporate apartment complex at all costs.
Prior to move in, the office staff of Lucinda and Jaclyn were pleasant, helpful and always smiling. Upon touring the facility, I was impressed that it had a gym in the basement of the leasing office, a pool and a hot tub on site. I viewed the apartment my girlfriend and I would be moving into. Unfortunately, the tenants that occupied the apartment at the time, relied heavily on powerful spices for cooking. Returning to the leasing office, we were

I’ve rented apartments for the past 20 years and usually can spot shady business. Rising Glen seemed great at first and initially I was very happy with the facilities, despite the egregious rent prices. It seemed worth it, as a glance. Wow, was I wrong! Shortly after moving in I started noticing things, such as: the trash and recycling was overflowing on a regular (weekly) basis, the hot tub worked intermittently at best, the gym was run down, had broken equipment, and there were spiders and crickets in the gym area (it’s the basement of the leasing office). Also, there is a seriously alarming

I don't recommend moving here. Although the staff is nice, they do what their corporation asks of them. They'll tell you whatever you want to hear but in the end, when you want your deposit back, they'll make many excuses why you're being deducted for things they told you was good at walk through and take most of it. Most people won't take them to court since the cost of loss time, stress etc. is more and they know this, so they make a bunch of money for frivolous charges. Quite the racket! At wall through, make sure you get a signed paper and don't let them tell you

We are in month 8 of our lease and are still so glad we chose Rising Glen. Our apartment is spacious and affordable, especially in comparison to other complexes in the area, and the pool and on-site gym are always well maintained.

The staff has made our stay more special than any complex I have lived in before. Anytime we have had a concern they have addressed it promptly and with a smile. Especially Lucinda, who has been our rental angel since we first toured the complex.

From our move in giftbag (with practical essentials like soap and T.P., to the staff handing out bagels this morning in light

My wife and I have lived in Rising Glen community for about a year and a half now. We love it!

The community is very quite and all the neighbors I have meet have been very nice and respectful.

I love that everyday there are landscapers here to clean up the grass and bushes, keeps the neighborhood spotless.

The office staff is very very nice. I walk my dog everyday after work and we go in to say hi to the ladies in the office and I have had nothing but nice things to say about them. Heck everyday Lucinda gives our dog a treat, EVERYDAY. I'm sure that's expensive haha but she does

Be Careful!!!!! If for some reason you get denied or decided not to sign the lease and move in getting the refund on your deposit will be an issue. They tell you it can take up to 14 business days but when that time comes and goes they stop responding to your phone calls and emails. The property management company R&V Management may or may not be the problem. I don't recommend them or their properties.

If you are looking for a place to call home...THIS IS NOT IT! I moved in 7 months ago in March and boy am I paying for it. I am a traveler by profession so I move often and have lived in numerous complexes and have never been charged as much as RVM is wanting to charge me upon move out. But first let me rewind and tell you a little about the complex......
When you pull in, the property looks amazing! Great pool! (unheated and usually empty because of it) and amazing landscaping (the landscapers come just about every day and if you live there you will know this because you will hear leaf

The leasing office staff were very helpful, informative and patient with me. They helped me understand how much I would be charged for rent and why and they even sat down with me to go over my lease, insurance... pretty much any questions I had. Because this is my first time renting an apartment, I have a lot of questions and every time I had one they would literally drop everything to assist. Thank you ladies!!!! Yes, there is construction at times, but they send out notices which is very convenient and helps me plan for some noisy days. The staff was also extremely helpful while I picked my apartment

I hadn't looked at the reviews before moving in but I am frankly a little alarmed. I've moved around quite a bit throughout southern California in the last ten years and never had as pleasurable of an experience as I had with leasing with Rising Glen.

First of all, the counsellors are all incredibly sweet and personable. They answered all of my questions and move in was a breeze.

Something that may be Carlsbad specific but if you don't take possession on the date a unit is available, the monthly rate will change. Didn't have to deal with this in LA or OC but when in Rome.

I live in Rising Glen. I just noticed these Yelp reviews while going to their website to pay rent and I think I should leave my own 2 cents because a lot of these negative reviews are pretty off base.

First off, Rising Glen is the quietest apartment complex I have ever lived in. These reviews that it is loud are ridiculous. I sleep with my bedroom window open most nights and I can hear a pin drop after 11pm or so. The only noise I ever hear is far off from I-5 when it sounds like cars drag racing, but I am sure half of Carlsbad hears that.

For the people saying they hear their nighbors
