People come to psychotherapy for various reasons. You may be struggling with feelings that are hard to talk about like sadness, shame, anger, guilt, or emptiness. You may feel lost or stuck due to unresolved loss, trauma, or uncontrollable impulses. You may find it difficult to stay focused, organized, or motivated.
Perhaps you crave more passion and vital risk-taking in your life. Psychotherapy can improve all of these areas while also reducing anxiety and depression. Psychotherapy at its best goes beyond symptom relief leading to a greater sense of ease within oneself, an enhanced sense of agency in one's life, more intimate and authentic relating, and incidentally enough, inescapable personal and professional growth.

I am staff at Access Institute, a postgraduate training clinic, where I serve as an administrator, teacher, and supervisor. As Director of Elder Services, I oversee Access Institute's senior program, which serves vulnerable populations through community partnerships in the Castro and Bayview neighborhoods of San Francisco.
I usually like to talk for a few minutes on the phone to learn a little bit about you and answer any initial questions you may have before you come in for a first appointment. After that, I recommend that we start with 1-3 consultation sessions so that we may gain a better sense of what it might be like for us to work together and determine whether there is a fit.
