I am a licensed clinical psychologist who provides individual and couples psychotherapy in San Francisco. Thank you for your interest. Reaching out to get started in therapy can generate many feelings- relief, anxiety, hope, fear, and excitement to name just a few. All too often we've been alone with feelings of dissatisfaction, pain, suffering, being stuck, anxiety, shame, depression or crisis.

Starting to think about getting support and speaking with a caring professional is a huge step in a promising direction. Therapeutic relationships can truly be life changing and transformational. The issues that are leading you to think about therapy can be worked on, leading to increased satisfaction and joy with yourself, improved relationships with others, and enhanced functioning in pursuit of the life you want.
Services
My therapeutic style is relaxed, engaged, warm, and non-judgmental. I am a psychodynamic therapist whose thinking and approach is informed by understandings of how the mind develops and how it relates to our bodies, our worlds, and our relationships.

I work collaboratively with you to understand your particular struggles and patterns in order to help you examine your reactions and develop more flexible responses and resolve conflict- whether internal or external.I believe listening to the particulars of your unique story with deep curiosity is crucial to our work, but I am also pro-active and engaged in sharing my thoughts and observations.
Whether due to patterns in how we respond to ourselves or how we relate to others, examining ourselves in the safe and supportive space of a therapeutic relationship can offer us a path to change, growth, and integration between parts of ourselves. Our suffering and difficult feelings- while painful or scary- can be cues to these needs.
In addition to my clinical practice, I develop classes and presentations on a wide variety of psychological topics. Please contact me to discuss your needs as I am happy to develop tailored curriculum and talks. I may be reached at 415-812-3115 or meg@DrMegEarls.com. Taught two-hour class to cohort of Masters and Doctoral Level Trainees for non-profit counseling center Queer LifeSpace.
Both for individuals and for couples, a session lasts 50-minutes. My fee is $275 for individuals or couples. This is commensurate with other therapists in the Bay Area with similar levels of experience and expertise. I have a limited number of sliding scale slots and welcome you to discuss your financial needs with me if you need a reduced fee.
As a first-step, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation in which we can discuss your particular situation, needs and any other questions you might have. If we decide to set up routine therapy appointments, they are either once or twice a week. I offer weekday appointments during the day and evenings, as well as Saturday options.
