Artificial intraocular lenses, or IOLs, replace the eye's natural lens that is removed during cataract surgery. IOLs have been around since the mid-1960s, though the first FDA approval for one occurred in 1981. Before that, if you had cataracts removed, you had to wear very thick eyeglasses or special contact lenses in order to see afterward, since the natural lens that had been removed wasn't replaced with an artificial one.
Retina specialists are specialized in the treatment of diseases of the retina. This subspecialty of ophthalmology is sometimes known as vitreoretinal medicine. The vitreous is the jelly like substance that fills the back of the eye. The retina is a delicate nerve tissue that lines the back inside wall of the eye and is the part of the eye responsible for creating an image that is processed by the brain.

The lady who had examen my eyesight was very rude! It would be good if she changes her attitude and treat the clients kindly!

There is at least 1.5 hrs wait with appointments. Almost all of their doctors are horrible.
However, I dont mind the wait if I am seeing the new Dr. Siranoush Sarkissian. She will do a thorough examination. Will tell you what is wrong and what you need to do. She even fought for me getting an insurance approval for my prescription. She is nothing short of awesome. She cares. I would give 0 stars if it was not for her.

They charged my insurance for an eye exam. I actually went in for a check on my eye that was poked. I called 3 times, was on hold for more than 10 min each time and the line hung up😤

DDr Hovanesian confronted me as my daughter gave a bad review on the facility in Glendale when I had my cataract surgery which i agree 200%. Took 5 hours to wait. Ana Miriam are useless on the phone. Long hold. Never return call or message full.I remembered I saw Dr Hovanesian a year ago. He said not time for cataract & it will never improve my vision anyway. He is wrong got insurance company got another doctor & scheduled for surgery right away & both my left & right vision improved. No contact lens no glasses anymore. Dr Yang & Dr Gabrilian are good

Very unhappy with this facility. They make appointment after appointment where the wait is longer than the assessment etc. It seems like they are more concerned with racking up fees than they are with the care of the patients. Definitely finding another facility for my father.

Not only are they rude, yes they are disorganized. Went to my second appointment after waiting 2 months for it, they said I did not have one. They had no record of my first one! Funny they cashed my co-pay check for the first one! Kept me waiting to sort things out. Came back and said I should have received a call from another office regarding surgery, mind you according to them there was no record of a first or second appointment. This surgery was that I needed was a surprise to me. The worst is that I have to change my primary physician in order to go to another ophthalmologist within a 30 mile
