Evergreen Home Inspections
Having a good inspection is 'nice', having a great inspection is what you should be looking for. A thorough, properly done inspection can save you $1000's and sometimes tens of thousands in repair and renovation costs. Why would you choose to save $50 1 or $100 and get an inspector who is less experienced, takes less time, and is not committed to your satisfaction?.

Older - and especially antique - homes may require an inspector who has inspected several thousand of them to date - and has experience with renovations and improvements. You also want guidance on issues such as replacing older windows. Do you repair and renovate and replace (depending on the condition of the windows, either could be the right choice).
Services
We inspect homes from 800 to 8000 square feet (and larger). We do this with the same care you would want from any professional service. We meet or exceed the Massachusetts 266 CMR 6.00 Standards of Practice, the New Hampshire Standards of Practice, and the ASHI Standard of Practice.

Evergreen Home Inspection serves Home Buyers and Home Owners, Attorneys, and the Real Estate Community across Haverhill, Merrimack Valley, Andover, Salem, Peabody, Boston, Medford, and Reading.
Evergreen Home Inspection serves Home Buyers and Home Owners, Attorneys, and the Real Estate Community across Haverhill, Merrimack Valley, Andover, Salem, Peabody, Boston, Medford, and Reading.

Our Inspection Services include: Pre-Purchase Inspections | Seller's Or Pre-listing Inspection | New Construction Inspections | Testing for Elevated Levels of Radon Gas | WDO/Termite Inspection | Testing Well Water | Homeowner's Inspections And Consultations.
I think you realize how important it is to have the home you are purchasing properly inspected. In many cases we have saved our clients thousands - and occasionally - tens of thousands of dollars in avoided repair and renovation costs. The key words, however, are properly inspected, as you can be shortchanged by an inspector who does not take enough time or doesn't explain things clearly.
Radon is a radioactive soil gas that occurs due to the presence of naturally occurring uranium in the soil and gravel beneath the home. Exposure to high levels for a prolonged time can lead to a higher risk of lung cancer. Unfortunately, one cannot look at a home and tell whether it will have high radon levels or not.
Wood-destroying organisms, like termites, can be the source of serious - and seriously expensive - damage. I look for evidence of damage from wood destroying insects during the inspection. A formal wood-destroying inspection with a National Pest Management Association report is an extra fee. The termite inspection with an NPMA report is required if you are getting a VA Mortgage.

Definitely recommend Ernie; he is knowledgeable and took the time to inspect the home and provide answers to our questions thoroughly. He provided a detailed inspection report and recommendations, and things to look out for for years into the future. He also went through the appliances/equipment details and the care procedures along with the inspection.

Ernie was a fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable home inspector. He was punctual, professional, and definitely worth every penny. Ernie provided a clear, yet detailed, description of features and issues of the house from both a safety and maintenance perspective. He was very observant and his notes, both verbally and in writing, will provide me with a useful reference for years to come. I strongly recommend hiring him.

I hired Ernie for my home inspection for a home I am in the process of purchasing. Another home inspector that I had hired in the past recommended Ernie to me.
I had an excellent experience with Ernie.
He was very professional over the phone, as we were scheduling the inspection, as well as in-person.
He arrived at the property early, before my wife and I arrived, and he was already walking around the exterior of the property checking things out.
At the very beginning, he explained to me how he would perform the inspection and he told me I could ask questions at any point.
I found Ernie to

Ernie is a fantastic Home Inspector. He is extremely thorough in his investigation, and understandable in his explanation. Ernie spent time with us, answering our questions and uncovering a few issues that helped us make an informed decision about the home we are buying. The pricing is fair, and we were not pushed into any additional services.

I am a Realtor with 20 years in the business and have been through hundreds of Home Inspections. I used Ernie for my daughter's new home purchase as I wanted the most thorough and knowledgeable Inspector I could find. Ernie was exactly that and more. His was a 5 star service for a very reasonable price and we cannot recommend him highly enough.

Ernie Simpson has done several home inspections for me, and I have been completely satisfied every time.
Most recently, his inspection of an older home I was considering highlighted some serious issues. It helped me determine that the home was not a good investment, allowing me to confidently walk away from the purchase.
He brings a wealth of experience to the inspection process, providing insights and information in a way that you can understand. You will learn a lot during the inspection, as he encourages questions and will answer them all. The report he provides is comprehensive, and delivered

Ernie was highly recommended to my husband & I when we were in search of a home inspector & he exceeded expectations. He was responsive, meticulous, professional, organized, honest and passionate. It was such an educational experience for us! Ernie was patient and kind as he was always making sure we understood what we were looking at and was always checking if we had any questions before moving on. He has a trusting energy about him the moment you meet him and is a true gentleman. His pricing is great for how high end his services are and you get the feeling that he takes the inspection personal

Ernie did a wonderful job on our home inspection. He was incredibly patient and thorough. Ernie made sure to teach us about every nook and cranny of the house, and did not rush through anything. He was very detailed and able to point out the difference between cosmetic issues, general home maintenance issues, and immediate needs. He didn't make mountains out of mole hills, and was just an honest, good guy. I would definitely recommend him.

Ernie of Evergreen Home Inspections came highly recommended by our buyer's agent, and he didn't disappoint. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and patient, and he was happy to answer all of our questions (as first-time home buyers, we had a lot) in a level of detail that was appropriate to our limited understanding of these things. Our inspection started promptly and lasted approximately three hours. My fiancé and I cannot recommend Ernie/Evergreen Home Inspections enough.

My wife and I had our home inspection done by Ernest and it was a great experience. Not only does he have extensive knowledge, but also a great personality. He made us feel at ease knowing that we had hired a person that we can trust for this large investment. I would highly recommend his services for anyone looking for a thorough inspection.
Also, Ernest Simpson published a book ‘The Ultimate-Home Buyer’s Handbook”, the book is about what no one tells you when you are purchasing a home.
