I am Lance, I was born and raised in Rockland, Idaho, a small town with a population of 500. I grew up helping my family on the ranch and taking care of the local cemetery. Working at the cemetery is where I gained interest in the funeral industry. While at the cemetery I saw funerals come, but did not know what happened before that point.

As our lives get busier and the distances between loved ones grow, its not always possible to attend funeral services. This option enables family and friends to be part of a memorial service either live while the service happens or later, when time permits. Through a simple email invitation family and friends are able to access the service.

I don’t know where to start…. From before our family member passed away Lance was ready and waiting. He did everything he could to make my mom feel comfortable during the entire process, We love Nelson’s Family Mortuary and wouldn’t go with any one else. Nelson Mortuary was incredible. They treated us with compassion and kindness from the very first contact we had with them and every interaction thereafter. The owner, Lance, has put together a mortuary unlike anything I have ever seen. The facility is gorgeous. The instant I stepped into the chapel I felt so much peace. Nelson’s Family Mortuary provided a most wonderful experience for our family. Our sister used Nelson’s for her adult daughter’s funeral and through that we have decided we don’t want to use anyone else. Everything was perfect and handled with dignity. The florist they made available was the best I have not only used, but ever seen. All dealings with them made a very difficult situation sweet, peaceful and so carefree. Thank you Lance!

I felt that our family was treated very well when we needed to plan the funeral for a family member. We were provided with very easy to use links to plan our services, and prepare a photo screen show and other items like the handout for the funeral services. Very easy to use and a quality outcome. I felt the cost was reasonable and in line with other mortuaries, but the service better than what I had experienced at other places in the past. The building is beautiful and well appointed. Very nice and I would recommend.

I can't say enough wonderful things about the Nelson Family Mortuary and Lance Nelson. From my first interaction over the phone; to my last interaction after the funeral, Lance was supportive and kind and very responsive.
The Mortuary is modern and peaceful and beautiful with a gorgeous view of the mountains from the large windows. I really appreciated the high-tech touches: allowing remote viewing of the services over the internet, on-line obituary, the easy website where we could upload pictures for a slide show presentation.

I never realized how much you have to plan and take care of in just 1 week. No one wants to plan a funeral and it's never easy but Nelson family mortuary was so organized it made the planning process a lot easier so we could be together as a family and not have to stress as much about my fathers funeral arrangements. From the moment we walked in the mortuary it was so serene. I immediately felt comfortable and well taken care of. The building itself is gorgeous and to have mount Timpanogos as a back drop makes it perfect. They were very respectful and never made us feel pressured with making

Our daughter of 10 months passed away last December. We couldn't have had a better experience at Nelson Family Mortuary, given our heartbreaking circumstances. Lance, the owner, was so graceful, professional, and helpful during our interaction. He had such a calming presence that helped us to feel at peace and get through this trying time.
