Services
We are a family-run Optometric office owned by Dr. David and Dr. Susan Csonka, husband and wife, along with daughter, Dr. Elaine Miller. Dr. David started practicing in his Northway Mall office in 1982 and Dr. Susan joined the practice in the early 90's. In May of 2010, we moved the practice into our newly constructed private office building on Babcock Blvd across from Northway Mall.
Csonka Optometric has been successful because we specialize in taking genuine care and concern for every patient and continually keep the practice updated by purchasing the latest in diagnostic instrumentation. This allows us to be able to provide cataract evaluations, diagnosis and manage glaucoma, and determine if macular degeneration is present and if necessary determine which treatment option would be most beneficial.
Please download and fill out the Patient Information Sheet and bring it with you to your office visit. Also bring your medical card and any vision insurance card or information you have. If you are an existing patient, please fill out the Patient Information Sheet with any information that has changed since your last visit.
At Csonka Optometric, we strive to keep pace with the rapid changes occurring in the optical industry and the new technology available to our profession. In addition to the training they receive from the doctors, the staff of eight continually receives the latest information on lens design from the leaders in the optical industry, enabling them to make informed recommendations regarding your eyewear needs.
Since 2006, Dr. David, Dr. Susan, and Dr. Elaine have all taken part in a medical mission to provide eye care and eyeglasses to the residents in and around the village of Villa de San Francisco, a small Honduran town of about 10,000 people located 90 minutes from the capital, Tegucigalpa. The mission is sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown and is funded 100% by donations from concerned individuals.

The office staff is really rude when I told them the prescription they gave to me might be wrong. I requested to talk to their manager, but the person said they don't have manger. So I put my feedback here.
I was given a prescription after my checking and nobody told me that is for frame glasses not for contact at that time. but I have told them I usually wear contact. I used the prescription they gave to me to order my contacts. As the result, the contacts do not fit. I called the Csonka and complain why they don't give me the contact prescription or let me know the contact prescription is different

This was my first time going to an Optometrist and I was very nervous and stressed. Dr. Susan Csonka and her staff were beyond helpful, informative, and knowledgeable in the field. They answered all of my questions, made me feel comfortable, and gave me a thorough exam. The facility is extremely clean and very nice.Even though I ended up having to be referred to a different specialist, I still had an amazing experience and learned a lot about the eye issues I was dealing with. Csonka Optometric is a perfect example of how all Doctors office should be.

The doctors really take their time to give you a thorough exam and to explain what they're doing and what issues you might have and the staff is exceptionally kind and friendly. Also, no painful eye puff test for glaucoma! The only negative I can think of is that most of the frames they carry are pretty pricey designer frames, but they are happy to give you your prescription to get frames elsewhere. I've also never had any billing problems and the lab they use is very prompt. Never thought going to the eye doctor would be a pleasant experience, but here it is.
