There are many times when home inspections can give you an advantage. If you are buying a home, getting a home inspection means you know about any problems and their solutions before you move in. Radon is a radioactive gas that is odorless, tasteless and invisible. It occurs naturally in soils and rocks and enters houses through the foundation or through well water. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends testing for radon in all houses below the 3rd floor and fixing houses with elevated levels of radon.

Craig Poindexter of Pacific Home Inspections Inc. inspected a house we were thinking about buying, and did an amazing job. He was extremely thorough -- he took the time to look at every aspect of the house and test all of the appliances. He went up on the roof and even used the crawlspace to get under the house and completely scour the foundation, etc. We were particularly impressed by this (it was a very tight crawlspace).
