Founding Member of The Wheelock Law Firm, LLC, Mr. Wheelock received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his Juris Doctor from Western New England College, where he was a member of the law review. Mr. Wheelock was admitted to The Connecticut Bar and subsequently to The Florida Bar. Mr. Wheelock served in the U.S. Navy submarine service and as a Navy Judge Advocate.
In Florida, if you believe that your marriage is over and you have reasons to end your marriage, the courts must grant you a dissolution of marriage. The Court will also determine every issue between you and your spouse regarding children, property, support and other important legal rights. Our lawyers and staff represent people in complex, contested divorces.
Nothing is more important than the health, safety and well-being of your children. Florida does not award "custody" or says that one parent is the "primary residential parent". You and your spouse will design a Parenting Plan for all matters about your children. If you and your spouse do not agree on something about your children, the Court will set up a Parenting Plan for you.
When the other party does not comply with your Agreement or with an Order of the Court, you have the right to require the other party to obey the provisions of the Agreement or Order. The Court has Contempt powers to enforce payment of child support, alimony and attorneys' fees. If found in Contempt, the other person may be sent to jail until they comply.
A dissolution of marriage involving active duty military personnel, a retired service person, or his or her spouse involves issues regarding pensions, military benefits and children's issues. Federal law regarding these matters will apply in your divorce. The Court in Florida may or may not be able to resolve these issues in your case.

Promised the world ans used scare tactics to say it was necessary to file that day or in would lose leverage. Found out a week later delays were not of court as Wheelok explained but court was closed for holiday. This was before Covid. Lawyer blamed court for delays and in reality the courts were not even open that day. Said for another $2000 he could expedite delay by going down to courthouse himself and I almost paid. Mr. Wheelock was my fourth attorney in a very tumultuous divorce case. He was always on top of everything and kept me informed every step of the way. Wheelock has learned to legally steal money from innocent and vulnerable people who don't have knowledge of the family court system. Divorce, Child Custody, etc are very emotional and highly stressful for everyone involved, sometimes extremely contentious. This is the worst law firm I ever delt with In my life . They tell u everything u want to here and ask for a big retainer and they don't tell u that u have 20 hours of paper work to do and it's not evening I relates to ur case the. They nickel and dime u to death after u spend 11000.00 dollars they still ask for 45 cents stamps and 10 cent page copy. They even try to charge u for a local call and fax 2.00 a page they to many mistakes and then they charge u for it . I am extremely disappointed in this law firm. When I called to retain a lawyer that were all hands on, everyone was on board and with plans of attack. I had one lady tell me as soon as the retainer is paid " We will hit the ground running".
Well they must be running with a walker cause after two weeks, nothing was accomplished. When phone calls were made they were never returned. Then we would hear, " Sorry, he was in trail and his secretary didn't know." How does his assistant not know he was in trial?
