Our mission is to provide the families of Rhode Island with an exceptional early childhood program in a safe, nurturing environment. We strive to give each child the opportunity to grow and develop physically, cognitively and socially in a safe, happy and caring place. We believe Tender Hearts is the perfect place for children to develop, learn and find self-esteem.

Tender Hearts Child Care and Learning Center is a privately owned, year-round child care and pre-school facility. Children who attend our program may enter at the age of six weeks and continue through Kindergarten. We are licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families Services as well as the Department of Education.
Services
They love to use their senses and develop their motor skills. They are learning to navigate the ups and downs, over and under of the physical world. Our staff will make sure that your baby's skills will be developed based upon their age specific needs. Large and small motor experiences such as grasping, holding, learning to crawl, gripping and reaching.
There will be special activities and field trips on a regular basis. When an event is planned, your child will bring home a sheet describing the event, as well as a permission slip that will need to be returned. These trips and events are not covered by tuition and are the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian.
When returning your registration packet, please include a $75.00 non-refundable registration fee along with one week's tuition. All payments are made through direct deposit. If you need to drop off your child early or pick up after your scheduled time, please notify the office ahead of time and we will do our best to accommodate you.
What security measures do you have on site? All classrooms and playgrounds have security cameras that record 24 hours a day. If you have any question or concern regarding your child, please see the Director and she will be more than happy to review the tape with you. All exterior doors are locked. When you register your child with us, we ask that you give us a list of people you give permission to pick up your child.
I feel very strongly that an environment where children feel secure, safe and well-cared-for is the perfect place for them to develop, learn and find self-esteem. I am always available to parents, and encourage them to contact me if they ever have a question or concern. We are located in the Jefferson Gateway Complex, 2 doors down from the Holiday Inn Express and just minutes from 95.

We’ve been with Tender Hearts for almost 6 years. Our oldest is now in Kindergarten but was so well-prepared both academically and socially thanks to the teachers and staff at Tender Hearts. Our two younger kids are still at Tender Hearts and we wouldn’t want to bring them anywhere else. You can tell that the staff love what they do and care so much about the kids. Our two year old runs in excited to see his teachers and friends every day, and gives his teacher a big hug. Our daughter is in the infant room and although she can’t talk yet, she always has a big smile on her face when her teachers

BUYERS BEWARE! My child was only there for five weeks, but soon after starting, serious behavior problems began to arise. By week one, I had already been told that my child “wasn’t a good fit” and was promptly referred to Early Intervention. At the time, I couldn’t make sense of any of it. Only now can I clearly see that my child was stressed and unhappy because she knew how the staff truly felt about her. She knew she wasn’t wanted there. It’s heartbreaking to think about. The day I decided to withdraw my child from Tender Hearts, the owner had called me while I was at work, frantic

As a new mom of 1 I promised myself that I was going to be a stay at home mom and home school my child. As my daughter grew a little and developed a very social personality, I realized there was probably more that she could be learning then I could ever give her at home. So at a few days shy of 1 I decided I was going to find a full time job and put her in daycare. With a lot of guilt, the search began (and I had no clue what to look for). A friend told me to interview lots of places and follow my gut, I would always know what was right for my daughter. She was right! I interviewed lots of places

This is my first review of anything.. I felt obligated to share my experience because Tender Hearts was sooo great. When my little Walter started, like any other parent, it was hard to leave my son with people we didn’t know and go to work. These teachers are amazing people.. They took care of my man like he was family. I have no doubt at all that they truly treat the kids with respect and love.
Today was Walters last day... when I dropped him off this morning, the teachers didn’t know he was leaving and it was his last day, and when I told them, they instantly got a little emotional.. I honestly

Where should I begin. They clearly don't know how to handle active child. They don't have enough staff to address and keep them engaged in activities. They expect a 2 yr old to sit and be quit. They like to label child with attention deficit disorder among others. Beware parents its not all it seems. They talk the talk but cant walk the walk.

Our son started attending Tender Hearts in Sept. '13, a couple of months after he turned two, and he LOVES it! We love the staff and the facility, and we've come to feel like part of the community here!
