The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek is the first historic resort on the Mendocino stretch of the North Coast. Its opening coincided with the completion of the 'Shoreline Highway' in 1932, now Highway One. The workers moved turn-of-the-century mill workers houses onto the property and these are now Rose, Heather, Fuchsia, Cypress, and Water Tower cottages.

Guests staying at any one of our vacation rentals on the Mendocino Coast are guests of Inn at Schoolhouse Creek. As our guest, you will have full access to both Circa '62 restaurant and the Spa at Schoolhouse Creek as well as the Inn's nine acres of grounds, trails, and nearby private cove. Each one of our Mendocino Coast Vacation Rentals is a private home with sweeping views of the Pacific, full gourmet kitchens and ocean view hot tubs.

My husband and I stayed in the Pomo Cottage to ring in the new year. The cabin was stocked with all the right essentials for cooking up cozy meals. I loved the complementary bottle of Husch wine—such a nice treat. We played cards by the fireplace and stargazed in the hot tub. The property was quiet and serene, and the cabin was clean and comfortable. This was our second visit to the Inn and I’m sure there will be a third in our future ;)

WIFI ISSUE. I didn't have good signal in my room Van Damme Room. You can ask them nicely to reboot BOTH cable modems, that may help. I did that with the young gal, it helped. I had to re-arrange furniture and put my laptop on table to get a signal. Forget about tablet or phone wifi signal. No T-Mobile cell signal. Check cellmapper.net for cell signal, see if you can use your cell phone as a hotspot.

We decided to stay here for our wedding anniversary and we couldn't be happier with our visit. They provide a five star experience for our dog and the customer service, was amazing. The only complaint we have, is the Water Tower room needs a little work and the TV needs a better internet connection .

I have stayed at the Inn before and was pleased that their service was as excellent as before. This time we tried out the newly remodeled room with a full kitchen, murphy bed and pull out sofa. But I prefer the rooms with the king size bed, down duvet, view and jetted tub to this setup. It would work perfectly for a couple or small family with a dog as there was a lovely deck and small secured yard, but we were neither. My adult daughter and I chose between the murphy bed which was quite comfortable and cozy, and the sofa bed, which was not so comfortable - it had the legendary bar in your back

I loved my stay, the back yard of the Pacific View was perfect! Small pets are very secure as the wonderful staff had any and all small openings secured insuring the safety of my pet. Very quiet, peaceful.. fast response to any and all questions! Great restaurants near by, I actually extended my stay during the trip. I’m looking to my next stay at the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek.

My person, dog, and I stayed here for the weekend and are already making plans to come back in November! In fact, I'm bringing a friend here in three weeks for a girls weekend. As everyone says, this place is very dog friendly which is so nice. The location is wonderful- a view of the ocean (if there isn't any fog), a short walk to a private beach, and a short drive to Mendocino and Fort Bragg. We were bummed that the restaurant wasn't open and hope it opens again. We also look forward to using the spa and sauna after COVID is behind us.

The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek is our favorite place to stay when we visit Mendocino. The rooms are very clean and the bed was so comfy. They provide a coffee maker, fresh coffee grounds, creamer and sugars for delicious coffee during your stay. It's dog friendly and they provide treats and a frisbee, as well as a dog bed and bowls for your pup. The location is perfect with beautiful ocean views and walking trails. The staff is exceptional and very accommodating.

We LOVED our stay at the Schoolhouse Creek Inn! We'd do it again in a heartbeat. We had the Watertower Room, and we loved it. The balcony overlooking the ocean is so beautiful, and having the hot tub and other patio out front is also wonderful. The room is spacious and clean. The kitchen really is a kitchenette (for this room, just a coffee pot and a mini-fridge) but that is fine as long as you are planning on heading into town. We can't wait to come back again!
