Vision insurance only covers "routine" eye exams. A "routine" eye examination is considered a preventative exam. The refraction (determination of the eye's prescription) is included, and we check the overall health of the eye. Since there are no major medical problems, there will be no discussion of problems and follow-ups are not necessary.
