At Dyer Straits Wine Co., we have a singular focus. For two decades, we have been working the vineyard and making the wine from our 2.3 acre vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot- the wine is literally "made in the vineyard". Located in Cabernet Country, our vines send down roots deep into volcanic soils producing wines known for their concentration, intensity, and ageability.

We can say "so far so good" regarding the 2019 vintage. We have plenty of moisture in the ground thanks to late season rains. A big storm during the last week brought Diamond Mountain Creek to overflowing its banks briefly one evening, without causing any damage.

Dyer Cabernet Sauvignon is our flagship wine. It is a traditional Bordeaux blend - based in Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot as supporting players. It is the singular focus of our Estate Vineyard and our choice of varieties and clones as well as our farming practices are all designed to make this wine a pure reflection of the vineyard.
Cabernet Sauvignon is often called the "king of grapes" and that is certainly true in Napa Valley's Diamond Mountain District. It is perhaps the most widely planted grape in the world, rising first to prominence in France's Bordeaux region where it thrives and where the reputation for high quality wines is historic.
Cabernet Franc has been an important varietal at Dyer Vineyard since our first vintage. It flourishes in our volcanic Diamond Mountain soils making a wine that is both mineral, aromatic and lush with softer tannins than the famed tannins of Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Franc has been critical in our blends and, since 2013, we have bottled a small amount of 100% Cabernet Franc.
