While on a mini-trip to Napa, fate brought me to this magical place. I had an awful experience at Domaine Carneros next door (worst customer service in a winery ever) and was heading out of Carneros when I saw Cuvaison was right next door. Several signs said "by appointment only" and I tried calling but no answer. Since I was literally there I went ahead and tried my luck in person.
When I arrived I was greeted by Michelle. I told her I didn't have a reservation and was just a party of one. She said it would be okay since they weren't that busy that morning. I mentioned

The day prior to our tasting we rolled up and didn't have reservations. Luckily they had the phone number posted so we scheduled a tasting for early afternoon the following day. They require full payment at time of scheduling.
LET ME TELL YOU-- THIS PLACE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The staff were so wonderful. We had one guy "assigned" to our tasting and he walked us through each wine. We had a lot of questions about how the wine is made and the land the grapes grow on. He answered our questions. They have a couple of offerings for snacks and bites. I recommend to eat before, if you are

I thought this was a decent winery that has a great view, at a reasonable price point, and easy to reserve. We got to sample a lot of types of wine and took some pictures. Despite being picturesque, I felt I would not return. The wine wasn't explained much when served and the experience didn't feel very special.

Went here the day after my bday and I have to say every glass of wine was great! Daniel Johns guided us on this journey and he was the best. He was super informative and kind. I didn't want to leave!
This will absolutely be my goto visit anytime I'm near or within driving distance of Napa. Love at first sip absolutely! Highly recommend.

Why would I pay more for a tasting for 2 people than I would for a bottle without knowing if I even like the wine THEY choose to serve for the tasting? Pass. I feel that if you trust the quality of the wine, you don’t need to have tastings by appointment only for a substantial fee, and will sell more wine and gain more club members.

Wonderful winery, but you come for the spectacular views!
Located in the heart of south Napa (Carneros region), this wonderful winery offers some delicious wines as well as stunning views. I am a big fan of their Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah, but could not get into their Chardonnay or Pinot. That is not to say they were bad, I just am not a big Chardonnay oak fan or Pinots from Carneros (More of a Russian River or West County fan). The staff onsite was nice, but hard to flag down for help on a non busy day, hence the stay dropped from the review. Price point for tasting and bottle purchases were

We went on the vineyard hike and lunch event and were hosted at the property by Michael. Michael was incredibly knowledgeable and willing to share his experience with us during the 2 hour event. I so appreciated his explanations about microclimates, why some grapes are less successful in certain areas, etc. - he was a wealth of knowledge and had a great sense of humor as well. I highly recommend visiting here!

I realize I should've taken more English classes in college so I would be able to appropriately describe a magical experience that we had on our visit here.
I have to first give ultimate gratitude to Michael for being an amazing host. His knowledge and passion of wine, the winemaking process, the local area, the geography, the topography, the weather it's just amazing.
We booked the hike that includes a walk-through of the Vineyard it's includes with wine tasting and lunch in the barrel room. We learned that we were extremely blessed and lucky to be able to experience the barrel

Sometimes you find a place under strange circumstances but it turns out to be an unexpected gem.
Introducing Cuvasion - the sometimes forgotten left turn before the big tour bus attraction that is Domain Carneros.
Come here for the estate grown pours, cement fermentation, and European cool architecture, and stay here for the staff (winking at you Leslie!). The pick up parties have always impressed too - can't wait to see what the new boat house is all about!

Slightly off the beaten path and quite possibly not as appreciated and celebrated as some of the larger mainstream wineries in Napa, Cuvaison is a hidden gem located directly next to the famed Domaine Carneros. We pulled into this place as our last wine tasting reservation in the early to mid afternoon, and were pleasantly seated in the cool barrel room warehouse.
Our server Scott was excellent and very knowledgeable with Cuvaison wine's aging techniques. Once you get Scott talking about the wine the more you learn. The first tasting which really wowed all of us was the 2019 Chardonnay

We enjoyed the Distinction Tasting and it started off with a Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and then finished off with some Pinot Noirs, a Syrah and a Merlot. Overall, the wines were nice and we left with a bottle of Syrah. Good value for the wines available.
Unfortunately their main tasting room, the one with the view, is under construction but they have indoor and outdoor seating for windy moments.

First winery I've been to I don't have much to compare it to , but my overall experience was epic. We received a complimentary drink before we started our wine tasting. The server was really attentive to us , before every drink he gave us a description and a little info on where the wine comes from and how it's made . We were able to walk around outside and inside the establishment and take as many photos as we wanted . Our reservation was for one hour but since it was a weekday it wasn't so crowded so they gave us more than enough time to calmly drink our wine , didn't

PSA: because Covid restrictions are lifting, Napa Vally, the wineries and tasting rooms are all packed. I highly recommend making reservations 1-2 weeks in advance or you may not to get into the winery of your choice.
Took a Covid break with friends for a trip to Napa Valley for some much needed wine time. My wife had made reservations for us here and it was as good thing, as we could not get any other reservations/seats at any other wineries or tasting rooms on this particular Saturday.

I think my experience here would've been better if I came during non covid times and was able to get seated indoors between the wood barrels.
There wasn't too much of a view. The wait staff was nice and friendly but they seemed really understaffed and a little disorganized.
The wines tasted pretty mediocre and nothing special or too different from the wines you get at the store. The cheeses were good though and the caviar was really good - super creamy and buttery.

We drove up from San Francisco for a day trip (takes 1 hour) and Cuvaison was such a lovely experience! The outdoor patio seating has incredible views, and the location is unbeatable. Domaine Carneros is directly across the street so I recommend making reservations at both for a full day of wine tasting fun!
My party of 2 ordered the Estate tasting flight and we were both very impressed. The wines were all delicious and it was very interesting to hear about what makes each wine unique. There were also cheese plates and charcuterie options if you are looking for a light meal.

Came here for a wine tasting on a weekday during the COVID pandemic. Was happy about their COVID precautions. You must reserve a tasting online. It was excellent and very good value, as they give you an extra bubbly welcome pour and each pour is very generous. The employees were friendly, warm, charismatic, and knowledgeable. Overall, a delightful experience! Ambiance from the patio could have been better, and I wish they had cheese available that day, but the cheesemonger had not delivered for some reason or other.

Wonderful experience at Cuvaison. Great mix of wines for tasting, and the charcuterie board was delicious.
Service was top notch, with in depth explanations of the stories behind the wines we were tasting (the Andy Warhol connection is real neat!). There’s also a great view from the patio, which makes for some nice photos and a peaceful environment to enjoy the wines.
Will definitely be returning in the future.

You’d be paying for the view (mostly). The wines were ok, nothing memorable, the whites were too sweet and sour for us. Pinot was eh. Zinfandel and Syrah were decent. Service was not good, he wasn’t knowledgeable so we didn’t learn much from him. He also was too busy dealing with multiple tables and running around to be able to provide each table a decent experience.
They only have tasting, no tour, so yea, you’re paying for the view and relatively nice tasting room and balcony.

Our group from The Classic Café had the pleasure of touring the winery and doing an extended wine tasting with Steve Richards, National Sales Manager. He provided us with an amazing tour of the vineyards and winery and filled us in on the history and successes of the winery, including Brandlin on Mount Veeder. We had a wonderful and unforgettable time with Steve with the bonus of a smoked brisket meal that he personally prepared and served under the Oak Grove in the middle of the Brandlin vineyard. Cuvaison has both great wines and great people. Go there and the experience!
