Services
Leonard Watkowski started his funeral service in the east end of Winona in the early 1900s and operated the funeral home as the Watkowski Funeral Home. Following Leonard's death in 1937, the operation of the funeral home was assumed by Leonard's children Joseph R. Watkowski and Henrietta P. Watkowski.
John is a licensed funeral director in Minnesota and Wisconsin, who has been a member of the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home staff since 2001. John was born and raised in Winona and is a graduate of Winona Senior High School and Winona State University. He graduated with honors from the Mortuary Science Program of the Milwaukee Area Technical College in West Allis, WI.
We want you to feel so taken care of, that if for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the manner in which you were cared for, we will make any adjustment it takes until you are completely satisfied. If our adjustments still do not meet your satisfaction, we will reduce or eliminate the charge for that part of our service - that is our promise to you!
For families who choose cremation, there are many options available - from a traditional service with a viewing to a simple cremation without any ceremony - our staff can help you plan a cremation that meets your needs. Saying that you want to be cremated does not mean that you cannot have a viewing and a service.
Our funeral home does not own or operate its own crematory, and there are two very simple reasons why we do not. First, our funeral home has long standing relationships with the crematories operated by Woodlawn Cemetery in Winona, MN, and Wieser Crematory in La Crescent, MN. Both crematories have proven to provide excellent service to our funeral home and the families we serve.
