Dr. Wheadon is the man. Best optometrist I've ever had. I went in for an emergency appointment because I suddenly couldn't see very well when driving one night and he thoroughly evaluated the issue and got me into an Rx that worked well for me. He did all of the post follow up care after my lasik surgery with another Dr. I really trust dr. Wheadon and he takes the time to understand your issue and give you the best treatment. I've been seeing him at least 3 years now and recommend him to all my family and friends. No billing surprises and a very knowledgeable optometrist. Highly

I am so glad I found Dr. Wheadon in my west Hollywood neighborhood. He is so knowledgeable and friendly, going out of his way to help me find the perfect contact lens for distance and reading. I couldn't be happier. I always liked my other eye doctor but he never had the knowledge of all these wonderful options like this doctor does. On top of all that, I never have to wait very long at his office. That is his policy, to not make people wait. I highly recommend you give him a try!

I've been going to Dr. Wheadon for years. He and his entire staff: George, Barbara and Deah have ALWAYS taken good care of me. Just went in for my yearly check up and he's got this new machine that analyzed the layers of my retina. According to Dr. Wheadon, I have the retina of a 20 year old. I told Dr. Wheadon I'd rather have the body of 20 year old...he said he's have to get back to me on that...

I have recently visited Dr Wheadon's office and I am very impressed on how "welcoming and warm" the staff (Deah, Barb & George) made me feel! I had a delightful conversation with both George and Barb about the glasses that I picked out and upon picking it up - had a first class experience in custom fitting of my glasses. Even doctor Wheadon came out from the back to say "Hello" and to see how I liked my new glasses!
I definitely left with a smile on my face and look forward to many years to come with Dr Wheadon and his friendly staff!!! I highly recommend!!!

I have been going to Dr. Wheadon now since 2003. Dr. Wheadon and his staff make you feel like family. When I leave his office I feel confident I have gotten the best care. Dr Wes Wheadon and his staff: George, Barbara and Deah, have taken care of my vision needs since 1999. I moved to the desert and my near vision was deteriorating rapidly. This is so tuff for me.... I never write reviews but I have to say this ..... I absolutely adore Dr. Wheadon .... He has the BEST bedside manner and is so gentle...... BUT HIS RECEPTIONIST is a WHOLE different story. I have NEVER experienced anything like it before....NO personality with a WHOLE LOT OF UNINTENDED ATTITUDE.....I do not even get it ......... I left there and for hours after felt her wrath!!!! So I do not know what to say ..... sad because Dr. Wheadon is so great!!!! And I would give him 5 stars but because of her I just cannot .......

I've never felt compelled to write a Yelp review before, but I have had one too many needlessly unpleasant experiences with this office.
Deah, the receptionist, is one of the rudest people I've ever encountered in a professional setting. I just got off the phone with her, and she was yet again unhelpful, misinformed, and rude for absolutely no reason. I've been a patient for 3 years, and I absolutely dread having to deal with Deah over the phone or in person. I've never had this experience before with any other medical office in my entire life. It's truly baffling.

My daughter is not a patient of Dr. Wheadon, she is a patient of another optometrist very near by. That's important to note because I walked into Dr. Wheadon's office to have her glasses fixed thinking I walked into my daughter's regular doctor's office. They were busy when I arrived but Dr. Wheadon saw I was waiting and used a lull with a patient to ask me what I needed. I told him my daughter was a patient and her glasses were missing a piece that holds the left lens in and could he fix that for me? He replied, "certainly."

I was shopping for new back up eye glasses near my apt (then) and ended up having to see Dr. Whedon before I could order. It turned out that instead of glasses he knew of hybrid contacts that would benefit me greatly, given my specific eye condition. When we finished I ended up with 20/20 vision and so happy!
His experience and deep know-how of my specific eye condition made this possible! Although, I have moved to the Bay Area, I will continue to see him for my eye care. Thanks Dr!!

Dr. Wes was generous with his time and service. He fixed my sunglasses free of charge and when I asked if I could then purchase some saline for my contacts he offered me a sample bottle. What a sweetheart. So, I had to buy some sexy green aviators. TOMS- they're gorgeous and I plan to stop by in the future just to say hello! The office is stylish, clean and comfortable.

I went into this location tonight just for a quick look at some glasses that I'm intersted in, and possibly make an eye oppointment. When I walked in the guy asked what I needed and looked at his watch. I kindly asked are you closing, he responded "yes in 6 minutes",it was actually 10 minutes because I looked at my watch. I said would you like me to leave, and he responds "no its ok to look around, but that's why we dim the lights so noone comes in." Well I thought that was extremely rude considering I could be a paying customer, and referral source. So I walked out

As for dr Wheadon - great guy and terrific dr. I have been a patient of his for a few years. However, like a few of the other posters, I find the staff a bit of a challenge and sometimes rude.
More importantly very little about this business is designed with the patient/customer in mind. They are only open four days a week. When they are open they close from 12.30-1.30 for lunch...and they close at 5.30. This includes eye appointments AND picking up your glasses.
So good luck if you work regular biz hours or work out of the neighborhood. I work in Burbank.
There are also strict signs all over

I highly recommend and stand behind Dr. Wheadon's service as he has saved me money, time and from excruciating eye pain.
I went in this past Wednesday as there was something underneath my eye ball causing irritation and what became extreme discomfort. I did not have an appointment but I explained what the situation was and they agreed to see me immediately. I waited less than 10 minutes, the doctor put my through a quick eye exam, saw that there was a hair growing inside my eyelid and promptly removed what he thought was most of it.
The pain was gone but soon returned the next day when

He has several suggestions for various issues and helps you to understand and choose the best that suits your needs and budget.
They have a good choice of frames and if they don't have one you like, they can order something for you within 2 weeks.
My husband actually switched from another doctor and now he also sees Dr. Wheadon and we're both very happy with the service we're getting here.

Dr. Wheadon is uniquely amazing. Regardless of my concern; contacts, eye infection other, Dr. Wheadon always comes up with a solution and always makes time to see me. I couldn't be more pleased. His experience is obvious. I hope he never retires - really really good doctors are rare. Dr. Wheadon is one of those rare finds.

I've been going to Dr. Wheadon for most of my adult life. I hadn't been recently due to my own health issues. Upon returning for a checkup, I was reminded why Dr. Wheadon is so special. He takes one's total health and family history into consideration. I can honestly say that he's the most kind and thorough doctor I've had the honor to visit. He's interested in the overall health of his patients, and provides information in an accessible manner that is never condescending. Dr. Wheadon and his incredible staff work with such grace and compassion.

I went to him a while back because my ophthalmologist recommended him to me because I was having eye troubles due to poorly fitting contacts and she said he was contact fit specialist for those of us who have weird shaped eyes.
I went in for the contact fitting, but in order for me to get my glasses prescription, he was going to charge me something like double the fee--even though giving me the prescription would be no more additional work than simply writing it on a pad of paper!
I've never gone to an optometrist who works this way. Usually
