Our story began in 1971 when our parents, Susan Sokol and Bill Blosser, first planted vines in the now-famous Dundee Hills of Oregon's Willamette Valley. As second generation winegrowers, we are passionately committed to our family's legacy of creating world-class wines. Our wines are made from organic grapes, crafted sustainably with the environment at the forefront of our minds, that express the distinctive flavors of our hillside vineyards.
From the start, the Sokol Blosser family was aware of the impact that farming and wine production would have on the environment. Before it was popular, the winery did everything it could to give back to the land. The Sokol Blossers knew preserving the land would help the winery remain family-owned for generations to come.

When our parents Susan Sokol and Bill Blosser planted their first vines in the Dundee Hills AVA (American Viticultural Area) of the Willamette Valley 1971, they needed all of their youthful self-confidence, energy and determination to make their way because, at the time, there was no wine industry in Oregon.

I like this place so much I became a member. Unfortunately I don't live in Oregon but lucky for me I get my club shipments regularly. I'm very impressed with their wine and their bubbles. Their tasting room is gorgeous and the staff is always friendly whether it be in person or contact via email. Whenever I am in Oregon visiting I make sure to visit the winery. I can't wait for my next shipment and my next visit to Sokol Blosser.

Good for a Pinot Noir tasting, not for families and membership not suggested.
My wife and I became in 2015 at Sokol Blosser, before we were even married. They had a beautiful tasting room, were family friendly and were close to home (we're one right turn away).
They have a wonderful tasting room but it's for non-members making it a nice for a one off tasting. The member only tasting room is in a different building which is a huge let down.
Recently though they banned kids (June) and babies (December) so if you have a child, you can't go here. Also, if you're considering

Beautiful grounds and facility but the experience didn’t quite match up to our expectations. The staff was wonderful and kind, but we didn’t get the tasting experience we anticipated. We were served room temperature flight of their selections in carafes poured ourselves (could be COVID safety protocol still). Overall, it felt like the staff was there to serve and not so much as to guide us on a tasting adventure. The meatball appetizers were excellent!

As long time members we are frustrated with the apparent ban on children at the tasting room. Seems to have been implemented during Covid and the ongoing reasoning given is due to staffing? Well as we typically travel during the weekend with our child (age 5) it seems we will not be able to enjoy the benefits of membership at your tasting room. Are there that many children with guests that it's impacting business? And while we prefer and enjoy wine tasting without a child it's sometimes not practical. A few weeks ago we picked up our member wine and drove up the hill to Durant and enjoyed

Sokol-Blosser happens to be one of our favorite wineries and we have brought along friends visiting us many times. We went to Sokol-Blosser today as it was a sunny day. We were seated on the patio. This being the harvesting season the place is buzzing with fruit flies. They were all over us, the food and the wine. It was not an enjoyable experience at all. The server did everything she could to make us comfortable.
However, the winery management should not be seating people at the patio this time of the year.

Very Difficult to work with when scheduling an appointment for tasting. We came all the way from Michigan and had a negative experience. We started off by being walked through Sokol Blosser’s kitchen only to end up in their basement to drink sub par wine and look at portraits of their family. The staff was not very engaging, which resulted in a less than desired tasting experience. When we asked to move to a more desired view upstairs, we were told it was not possible.
If I wanted to drink cheap/bad wine while sitting in a basement to look at family portraits I could’ve stayed in Michigan

We came on an off day. Every step was complicated or met with a no.
Do not recommend for large groups.
Tabs: The computer system doesn't allow for splitting tabs. If you are with a group one person is stuck with a large bill.
Bottles: "No bottle service." So you can't buy a bottle for the table; only glass pours which are more expensive. But mostly it's a bummer because it's fun to open a bottle with friends.
The staff makes your write down your orders because they don't want to get it wrong. But it's another example of how this place puts the onus on the customer.

We made a reservation to have lunch and a wine tasting. When we booked we specifically asked about a full lunch menu because we were driving from 2.5 hours away and we were going to arrive at lunch time. When we arrived and checked in, the person who greeted us looked at us as if we were crazy when we mentioned we were there for our lunch reservation and tasting. She said they have a private event taking place that day and only a charcuterie board could be offered. Not only did they not seems genuine in their apology but their response was very dismissive and pretentious. And they did not offer

We booked at this winery over one month prior and let them know at that time we had a one year old with us. Thirty minutes before we were leaving for our reservation, they called to tell us we had to keep the baby in a carrier. We were visiting Oregon and had no carrier with us. We were then told we could not visit. Terrible customer service! It was a Sunday in peak season so getting another reservation elsewhere was super time-consuming. We ended up at Durant Vineyard and it was THE BEST. The wine was excellent and the setting is beautiful. GO THERE AND NOT HERE !!!!!!! xoxox

Sokol Blosser is one of my favorite wineries in the Willamette Valley, both for the wines and for the space. The new tasting room is gorgeous, midcentury-modern in design with an expansive view over the hills and large windows to let in the light. It's airy and clean.
The wines fit the tasting room as well (or does the tasting room fit the wines?) as they are lovely and clean-tasting. The Bluebird Cuvee is one of my favorite bottles (and relatively reasonably priced) but there hasn't been a single wine I've tried that I've disliked. Everything is well-tuned and pleasant.

This winery is situated on a lovely hillside and they had several socially distanced tables set up with large umbrellas also situated under one of the magnificent old oak trees, and on a very warm and sunny afternoon full of wine tasting this was the perfect place for our last stop of the day.
My girlfriend Jeannie J. is a wine club member here so we were entitled to one complimentary glass of wine. We both selected the sparkling rosé and it was lovely. Very crisp and effervescent. We were both very pleased.
We were also absolutely famished as it was nearly 4:00 pm and we hadn't eaten

The setting of Sokol Blosser is gorgeous and the architecture and design of the property and tasting room are stunning in a peaceful, minimalist way. The team at Sokol Blosser are friendly, knowledgeable, and community-minded. They have an extensive list of wines and bubbly that fit all palates and budgets. The bubbly from their Evolution brand is so fun and perfect for any celebration! I look forward to my next visit and to future collaborations with this wonderful team.

This was our first time to Sokol Blosser and we had a great time. We visited back in October and COVID precautions were in place. The wine tasting was served to you in little bottles that you pour yourself. There's an informational card that goes with the wine tasting so the waiter doesn't have to continuously be at the table. Also, it was one of the few places that served food so we planned to visit around lunch time. We found this winery through the Alaska Airlines Free Wine Tasting Program (which you can read more about it here if interested... https://www.theluxurylowdown.com/free

The setting was pretty and they did offer us a "bonus" pour when we showed up. That being said, we were pretty disappointed with our experience. We were seated a half hour after our reservation time despite arriving on time. Normally, this wouldn't bother me but all the vineyards in the area operate on prepaid reservations including Sokol Blosser, so if I missed my next tasting, I was out the money. I was never offered any sort of explanation or apology and still had to wait after explaining to the hostess that we had another tasting planned for day.

I visited two years ago and Sokol was my favorite place. It is all I have talked about with my husband. I am sad to say today's visit was a BIG disappointment. The experience was very sterile even despite COVID and we were almost nonexistent once seated. The wines are good but the tasting is overpriced especially for a lack-luster experience. I would much rather go to a smaller run vineyard where I feel treated. With so many vineyards in the area there are definitely other options. Next time I will go back to my small family run spots. It is definitely frustrating that I wasted a reservation

Wonderful wines, especially the Pinot Noirs and the Chardonays that are very flavorful and yet gentle and sophisticated... Entertaining wine tasting experience. Tasty appetizer plates (fromage and charcuteries separately, a bit small and pricey, but very good taste). Beautiful picturesque setting, heated outdoor seating during chillier days. Not too far from the center of Portland, easy drive through Newberg. The winery owners are thoughtfully providing a charging station able to charge a couple of EVs simultaneously, so forget about your range anxiety!

Sokol Blosser has always been one of our fave wineries to visit in OR. It was the first stop on this trip. We live in a state that doesn't allow shipping alcohol over the phone/internet, you have to order in person in the tasting room, so we had a list of things we wanted to try. We did make a reservation, even though it was just the 2 of us. Upon arriving, we were greeted by Bev. She was just so welcoming and friendly. When we sat down, she offered us a taste of her new favorite summer wine, their Thurgau, which I had never even heard of! We loved it! It took forever for our server

Loved their Farm and Foriage experience! Excellent food and wine pairings (6 small bite pairings with 6+ different wines!) with intimate time with the chef in a cute private kitchen. Zach did an awesome job guiding us and making it a personalized experience. Wines were excellent. Would highly recommend!

This property is classically beautiful, an expansive slope spreads out below the main building covered with the rows of vines. The main building has huge windows on both sides, and there are a few nice sitting areas outside. I just stopped by for a glass and a walk on my way elsewhere (I had the 2018 Pinot Noir Rosé, delish), so I am very much looking forward to coming back.

What's a beautiful place. I've never wine tasted before and right when we walk in, they greet us with a bottle to try. We made reservations which I'm glad we did because this place is popular. About an hour drive from Portland. They have different types of wine tastings that include reds, whites and roses. I'm not a fan of reds but there were a few that were pretty tasty. My friend signed up for their wine club (about $160) comes with 6 bottles of hand picked wines and our group of 6 got all of our wine tastings free! ($20-30 per person).

The new tasting room is gorgeous! Inside and out. Lots of warm woods, clean lines, floor to ceiling windows, a total mid-century vibe which I just love. There are tables along the walls which all offer spectacular views of the gorgeous vineyard. There is also a large bar if you want to mingle with others.
We enjoyed the Reserve Flight which started with a delicious sparkling rose of Pinot Noir. Perfect way to start our day! Followed by 4 Pinot Noirs. Our server did an excellent job telling us about each, explaining how their names were selected based on where the grapes were grown in the vineyard

I didn't know the Willamette Valley produced famous pinot noir and since I was driving, I could only go to one winery. Sokol Blosser was suggested by my AirBnb hosts. They had two tasting menus, a regular tasting with mostly whites for $15 and a pinot noir tasting of 6 for $25. I liked their rose of pinot noir so much that I bought a bottle ($22). I'm not usually a fan of rose, but they serve a dry one that wasn't too sweet.
The winery has a nice view and I met two couples on their patio who were fun to chat with. The staff was friendly as well.
