Services
We consider ourselves a vineyard winery, aiming to reflect what the vineyard has produced, purely, with minimal processing and without compromising great fruit. Our name, Chehalem, translates to Valley of Flowers in the Native American language, Calapooia. It's our goal to follow the example set centuries ago: to treat our land with great care and to continue our mission of creating a sustainable future.
Owner Bill Stoller was born into a farming family and spent his early years becoming attuned to the seasons and cycles of nature, and the considerations imposed on the crops. Calibrated to these cycles over a lifetime, and now as a winery owner, he naturally connects to the land and to its cyclical nature and subtle nuances.
From the vineyards we nurture and harvest to the wine we blend and age, we handle every step with respect for sustainable practices. Whether conscientious vineyard farming practices or the materials used in our wine shippers, sustainability is at the core of our business practices. We are, first and foremost, stewards of the land and consider the impact of every layer of the winemaking process.
Longing for a few days in Wine Country? We offer two wine country rental vacation homes, each located at our estate vineyard properties. These well-appointed homes feature full kitchen and living areas, comfortable bedrooms, stunning vineyard views, and outstanding wines. Surrounded by our newly planted Chehalem Estate Vineyard, the Bell Road Farmhouse is spaciously designed for large groups.
The Chehalem Tasting Room is the perfect choice for casual gatherings, receptions, conferences, or seated dinners. Our historic space features exposed brick, natural wood beams, and a flood of natural light making it perfect for parties of 10 to 90. Our team is here to help you tailor your next event to fit the needs of your occasion!

This was one of the reasons we chose to go to Oregon and we were happy we did both. Oregon was so beautiful and Chehalem was an awesome stop for us. We scheduled a tasting for 10a as their main event person happened to be getting married and we were glad they were able to accommodate us. Wine for Breakfast? Heck, it WAS 1p EDT so it worked out.
Their tasting room wasn't necessarily elegant, but the glasses were all set up for us and we began promptly. It was a rainy morning and we did get to walk through one of the vineyards, eat some grapes from the vine, and hear about Chehalem. We

This place really goes above and beyond! We arrived with a dog and due to new cdc regulations they were unable to accommodate us. However not only were they incredibly kind about our predicament they offered some solutions. They recommend a few places that were able to accommodate with a dog and as we were in the car we got a call from another winery. The owner had called and arranged we get a spot last min on a holiday weekend. They really saved the day! Chehalem was beautiful inside and we will be back another day sans dog. I really never would have expected such amazing service. This place is

My husband and I reserved a library tasting at the actual winery while visiting Oregon on our spring break. We met with Dave who made the experience outstanding! We had a nice selection of both white and red wines, which Dave personally selected for us after asking about our preferences in a phone call while booking the tasting. We tasted a couple of white selections first, and munched on some charcuterie before grabbing a tasting of Rose and heading out to visit the vineyard and learn about the property. We returned to the tasting room and finished up with a marvelous selection of Pinots. I highly

On a recent winery tour of the Willamette Valley we found a real gem. The days of free wine tastings are mostly gone. It's now common to stand at a bar and pay $5 to $10 for a "taste" of the offered wines at most wineries. Visit three or four wineries and you end up spending $30 to $50. That's okay if you want the travel experience, but why not make the tasting a "total" experience.
We visited the Chehalem Winery at the north end of the valley and opted for a full sit-down tasting that covered eight releases from a light and crisp Riesling, a barrel-fermented
