After graduating from Oklahoma State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, we moved to Connecticut and migrated east of the River. This led us to work at Portland Veterinary Hospital, allowing us to get to know you and your pets. You welcomed us, and we knew that we did not want to work anywhere else.
We purchased the hospital in 2015 from Dr. Olson & Dr. Nunez, and now as the the owners of Portland Vet, we look forward to strengthening our commitment to serve you, your pets, and the community. Dr. Christine Gustavson was born in Long Beach, CA though grew up in Arizona. She had numerous animals including sheep, goats, pigs, cow, horses, chickens, & of course, dogs and cats.

Services
We at Portland Veterinary Hospital rely on the highly trained specialists at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center. They remain on the leading edge of veterinary clinical toxicology. If your pet has accidentally ingested a foreign substance we will need to consult with poison control clinicians prior to beginning treatment.

My cat recently had a visit for his yearly check up with Portland Vet. At this visit I specifically stated that his ears (right one predominantly) was bothering him and he was twitching and pawing them very often. Today- Loki the new kitten in my household just came back from his neuter appointment which included a checkup as well, and I was told… he had a very bad case of ear mites as well at tapeworm. The doctor also stated that if Loki had ear mites for this long then it is very likely that Wiz also has had ear mites for some time now. This meaning that he was not properly checked at
