Provender is the natural progression and evolution of ideas. After the last 3 years of on-location dinners with The Farmer's Table we learned many things. In an effort to provide a unique experience and help carry the load of the Farmer's Table dinners, Provender was envisioned. Provender is a roaming wood-fired oven and crew that brings a unique experience to almost any party or celebration.
We merged a beautifully restored antique truck with a handcrafted Valoriani wood-fired oven. Our truck arrives prepared to serve any group up to 300 guests and carries with it all of the refrigeration, water, and electricity it requires, not to mention 2 draught beer lines, 1 draught root beer, and an assortment of wines.

Services
We are currently in the process of building three different menus to better accommodate the changing seasons and the availability of local product in Eastern Iowa. We offer a full service menu, giving you as much or as little as you'd like from appetizers and salads, pizzas and desserts, to beers, wines and non-alcoholic beverages.

In my mind, the Provender started like this:
"Hey dude. You know what would be awesome? A sweet old truck with a pizza oven in it!"
And the Provender was born of the union of a sweet old truck and brick pizza oven! While, I've only been here on RAGBRAI, the place is seriously magical. A delight of a restaurant on wheels that served up some mighty fine vittles!
We had a breakfast bar that consisted of rice, sausage and eggs - served cold and in rectangular form. This action was solid! If not for the miles ahead, I would have partaken in the meat laden sandwich.

Wowza, delish!
These guys focus on good, local, from-scratch ingredients and it shows! Everything is fresh from the farm and they even make use out of things like the radish greens - love that! Oh, and I suppose I should mention that these dishes are unintentionally healthy, because they are. This is the kind of food you want to eat all the time not because it's good for you, but because it's tasty. The fact that their menu is loaded with a bunch of super foods, is a mega bonus.
Also, can we talk about the truck for a second? Because it's the hippest thing that's rolled
