Chef/Owner Matt Zacek's love for food is evident in every dish he creates. He also founded a non-profit organization working with high school students that want or need some culinary skills to enter the work force or to go on to a post-secondary culinary program. Matt has spent much of his life in the sales world, but has now decided to share his love of creating great food with the Eastern Iowa Corridor.
Z's Catering was founded because the Worth Our Weight 2 program needed a place to give students the ability to work in real world scenarios. Not only will you experience the great food, but you are giving a student the chance to prove what they can do as well as what they have learned. We offer catering services for parties of any size for any type of event.

Services
Our vision at Z's Catering is to bring great food and mobile BBQ to Eastern Iowa while giving students in the area the opportunity to grow and develop into self sufficient individuals. All of our ingredients are delivered to us fresh. This delivery ensures that the ingredients that compose our dishes are as fresh as possible.
It is our mission to fill the gap in the education of young people in Iowa and get them ready to enter the food service industry or continue their education in a post secondary culinary program. We aspire to deliver a valuable skill to youth and help the food service industry gain a new generation of skilled employees.

I am a sales rep for a pet food company. I provide "Lunch & Learns" frequently and also provide meals for appreciation to veterinary hospitals. One hospital requested Z's so I agreed to try it. The comments were rave reviews. So, I used Z's for several other practices. I called to check on their responses and all reviews were stellar! It makes my life so much easier to have Z's handle the details and delivery. Plus, I don't have to beg for receipts from the hospitals, it is all done by Matt at Z's. It relieves me of picking up food and carting it into hospitals. Plus they are quite reasonable so

Matt and Z's Catering served our recent 100+ Men Who Care meeting inside Kinnick Stadium and the brisket was off the charts. Legit best I've ever had. The cornbread, the baked beans, the cheesy hash browns we're absolutely amazing and I recommend Z's Catering for any large group looking to serve the very best.

Catered in Z’s pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, and baked beans for an event at The Olympic South Side Theater in Cedar Rapids. The food was amazing, Matt was great to work with, enjoyed by all. Will use again for our other events! Thank you Z’s!
