Unfortunately, I have to give this "wanna be studio" 1 star because upon arrival we were less than greeted by owner/instructor, Christine, who had difficulty opening her own business and seemed annoyed when I told her that her manager, who was on vacation, was extremely nice and very helpful regarding all of my questions. What the manager failed to tell me was that Christine, owner/instructor, was IS CONTROLLING. We were in their very small studio and walked into a body odor .. gee I wonder it was because the owner, Christine, arrived seconds before an 830 class .. I tried to be myself

So happy to find Yoga Lila! Vinyasa yoga, with focus on breath, alignment. Inviting environment.
Great instructors. Interesting classes. Always felt supported, challenged (in a good way), learned new things, and felt like I improved each class.
Sometimes classes had 1-2 people (semi private not bad), sometimes the room was full.
You can do drop ins or sign up online with the MindBody app. They offer a card of 5 or 10 classes for a discounted rate.
Enter the studio through the back door -- alley behind South Edison restaurant (it might be a little smelly in the alley, but that ends once

Beautiful welcoming and sunny studio with a wide range of teaching styles. During Thanksgiving week (nice 10% off discount!), I took classes with Cathy, Caitlin, and Heather -- all brought different fantastic energy and focus to the classes. Caitlin focused a lot on alignment, which was really awesome. Cathy is an absolute treasure. I wish I could take her joyous and balanced classes every day! I will definitely be back during my next Montauk trip. The studio has mats and props for everyone. Just bring yourself and your smile! :-)

This studio is head and shoulders above others in the area. The teacher focused on alignment and breathing while still offering a decently challenging workout. This place was a breath of fresh air after taking a $26 dollar class at LOVE yoga the pervious day- the teacher there was a pedantic surfer girl who had no real expertise. Some of the poses she had us do weren't even yoga poses...Plus there was about an inch in between each person's (thin/ cheap) mat- way over crowded.
If you regularly practice yoga in NYC and want a weekend drop in class, go for this studio.
