My name is Troy Donoghue and I am the owner and operator of Liberty Home Inspections, LLC. I am originally from California, however, I grew up spending almost every summer camping in Colorado and Utah with my family. My love for the great outdoors is what brought me to Colorado and I am now loving my life making this great state my home.

A home inspection is an objective visual examination of the physical structure and systems of a home, from the roof to the foundation. Having a home inspected is like giving it a physical check-up. If problems or symptoms are found, the home inspector may recommend further evaluation. Home inspectors do not perform any destructive testing.
Create a plan of action in the event of a fire in your home. Ensure that there is an operable window or door in every room of the house. Consult with your local fire department regarding fire safety issues and what to do in the event of fire. Undertake improvements to all stairways, decks, porches and landings where there is a risk of falling or stumbling.

I highly recommend working with Troy at Liberty Home Inspections! He was super quick to get us on his schedule, and very thorough with his inspection at the property. He took time to inspect all systems and explain what he was seeing. The detailed report with pictures was an impressive summary of all the items he found (a lot of good things, and some not as good things). After the inspection, Troy has continued to be helpful in answering questions, seeking additional information, and providing resources and points of contact for next steps. I would work with Troy again anytime we need an inspection

Troy was referred to us by our local real estate agent in Bailey for a cabin we needed inspections completed in Jefferson. He was prompt in both return call time upon leaving a VM, and helped accommodate us in a super tight deadline (for which we are very appreciative). We were present for the 3hr inspection process and he was very thorough and also pointed out items to us as he worked his way through the house—making the inspection report a breeze to review afterwards.

I cannot say enough good things about working with Troy. Not only was he responsive on a Sunday when I reached out to schedule an inspection, he was able to accommodate the quick turnaround time we were requesting and went above and beyond with the job. I am a first time home buyer and Troy made sure I fully understood and was aware of the inspection results. He spent more time than he needed to helping my husband and I understand due diligence documents. It was very comforting having Troy perform the inspection with me out of state. He was very responsive to my initial inquiry, got me scheduled within a few days, sent me a quick email upon completion to outline the major red flags and then by the next morning he produced a very detailed report including thorough photos to help me understand the issues he identified. I was able to use his report to request quotes from contractors ....all done while out of state. I'm very pleased to work with Troy at Liberty and highly recommend him to anyone that appreciates efficiency, responsiveness and professionalism

Wow!!!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Troy was a lifesaver for me! I was an out of state buyer following my dream of moving to CO and Troy helped make that happen. He did the home inspection, comprehensive water quality tests, radon test and scope. Troy was very helpful in teaching me how parts of the new home worked, as a septic tank and radiant heat were foreign to me. He was very meticulous in his inspection of the new home and his attention to detail was immaculately laid out with pictures, in my 86 page report. And even after the inspection, he was very affable in answering more

I met with Troy at the home I was interested in buying as he was close to the end of his inspection. I was impressed by Troy's professionalism, thoroughness and incredible knowledge. I had provided my own 'punch list' of items I wanted him to ensure he covered but he went well beyond anything I provided. Also, his website and his HomeGauge software tool is very effective in tracking his inspection details (including photos) along with my collected estimates to correct the inspection problem areas.

It's not often you get fantastic customer service before ever becoming a customer, but that is exactly what I found with Troy at Liberty Home Inspections. He was willing and able to answer many questions (including practical ones) before ever even meeting me, and as a remote buyer, that helped a lot. He was also one of the most responsive inspectors I have ever worked with - which helped a lot when trying to schedule and book a trip out to meet him.
