Nonantum (Non-an'-tum) is an Algonquin Indian word which means "a place of celebration and rejoicing" or "a place of water with life". The Roberts family took it as the name of their farm on Auburn Road when they moved to Chester County in 1920. Likewise, in 1981, we, their descendants, adopted the name for our farm, home, and business on Good Hope Road.
Nonantum Veterinary Clinic had its humble beginnings in 1983. It started as a farm and small animal house-call practice. The practice soon needed more space and utilized a converted chicken house on the farm. That building was expanded throughout the 1980's and served as our quaint but cramped facility for the next 20 years.

Our team of skilled doctors, veterinary technicians, and receptionists work together to provide your pets excellent care. All doctors and staff participate in continuing education to ensure they are up-to-date on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. We recommend annual exams and using heartworm preventative year-round to ensure that your dog is as healthy as possible.
Please call our after hours on-call technician at (484) 467-8363 during the hours above. If we are unable to answer right away, we will make every effort to return your call in a timely manner. However, if your pet needs immediate assistance, please go directly to the nearest veterinary emergency center.
Our technicians will review your request and respond within 24 hours or the next business day. I can’t say enough good about MY vet! My girl is a very skittish, nervous patient and the whole office is so accommodating of that. They always take their time with her and also with me while explaining things in a way that a non-medical person can understand lol. I’ve been a customer for 13 years or so and I don’t see that changing as long as their doors are open!

We just moved to the area from out of state and were referred to Nonantum by our boarder. The staff and veterinarian were absolutely wonderful! We have a reactive 1yo Malinois/GSD and they took their time to build trust to make her visit as pleasant as possible. They are knowledgable, patient, kind, and it was evident that they truly care about the animals they treat. Their facility is beautiful, clean, and pricing was in-line with what we were paying in TX. Definitely the best vet we've been to.

Cannot say enough good things about these vets and their staff. I have been a client for over 16 years. They are compassionate and my dogs love them. They recently attended to one of my older dogs. They did not hesitate to rush in and provide quick medical attention which probably saved her life. They understand the meaning of quality of life.
She is back home now, on a lot of medications, but she is with her 2 buddies and me. I am very grateful

I cannot say enough good things about Nonantum, and recommend them to everyone. It's high quality vet care at affordable pricing. We've had a cat that needed multiple tooth extractions and we're quoted $1800 at our former vet and similar amounts from others near by. Nonantum did it for a third of those prices. Routine care and checkups are similarly affordable.

I'm very happy with Nonantum. I've been a client for nearly 10 years. I'm a cat Mom and they have cared for my 3 boys their whole lives. They have been fantastic during Covid. Rocky started with them May 2020 at roughly 6 weeks old and made it through all his kitten visits without a hitch despite Covid precautions. I definitely recommend their practice.
